Read what parents are saying about Church Hill Middle SchoolVery bad fights happen every day L school except MR Powers
Posted by a student on 6/7/2022CHMS has been good to us. My daughter has blossomed academically and socially. The place seems well run and it handles the usual early adolescent problems tactfully but efficiently. The teachers are committed and, thankfully, also human. So full marks.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI worked at Freiheit for about 3 years. I wish I knew about this site years ago because I think it is very helpful. This school has so much potential and has parents and teachers that really care, however, in my opinion the school district has failed to support the school as needed. They have placed too many special programs in the school and have ignored many requests for help. It is common for classes to have to evacuate into the hallway due to a student acting out violently. I saw students attack other students (hit, kick, choke.....etc). Parents were not notified when their children's class was evacuated and they also were not always contacted when their student was attacked which I found disturbing. My advice to parents would be to listen to their children and ask questions. Until parents speak out nothing will change. Also, instead focusing on the 3rd grade and up they should give much more support to kinder and first grade so the students are not so behind when they get to the 3rd grade. The teachers are micro managed and stuck in too many meetings. They have new leadership this year and I hope she is allowed to make the necessary changes. Prior leadership did not support the staff or parents (very unapproachable). The well being of "all" students needs to be prioritized instead of catering to chronically disruptive and violent students. Many of the students with special needs were set up to fail by insisting on inclusion even if that is not what is best for them and/or their peers. I saw classrooms torn apart, staff assaulted/injured and students cry because they were scared of the student next to them. All students deserve a safe environment in which to learn. Every teacher should have an aid in a Title 1 school in order to give the students the best chance to succeed and schools schools should stop the practice of passing students that have not learned what they need (no fault of theirs) in order to start the next grade.Other Review1y ago - Carl Schurz Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI hate this school . The teachers don’t communicate. They’re unorganized and lost my money and my form for t shirts. A teacher got an attitude with my 5 year old. I’m grateful i found a better school for them next school year. This school is a joke.Parent Review2y ago - Cross Lutheran School

The lack of communication about enrollment for my child was astounding. We ended up leaving and going to NBCA.Other Review10mo ago - Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School
