5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a grandparents helping raise 4 grandchildren. While Mazo was principal the school ran like a tight knit ship in a hurricane. We would see Mazo every day. She would be welcoming kids every morning. Communication between school and parents was open and understood. When the new principal took over, Communication ceased or became less understood. In a year, we still havent seen the principal out and about and have no idea who she is.Latest communication thru DOJO was that students 5th to 8th grade were to bring their lunch in gallon zip lock, (no explanation why). When I took my 3 grandkids 2nd and 3rd grade, I was told they had to use zip locks not lunch boxes. It is not the 1st or 3rd time that communication has been messed up. I enjoy the school, it's small, kids love it. We ate switching because of the distance but the lack of or miscommunication is playing a big part in our decisionParent Review1y ago15 Reviews - Alvarez Elementary School

The students are eager to learn and very respectful. The leadership team is outstanding, receptive, and are top-notch in how they lead the campus. I am grateful to be a part of the Fields Family.Teacher Review2y ago8 Reviews - Jackson Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFeel extremely blessed for my son to be at Thigpen-Zavala. He has been going there for 4 years and we couldn't be any happier. He is excelling in every way with the help of everyone. He gets so much encouragement from the teachers, coaches and so many others. You can see that Mrs Casas, the Principal, plays a very vital role in the success of the students. She is very involved and makes everyone feel welcomed. We have and will continue to choose Thigpen-Zavala!Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - St. Paul Lutheran School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would like to say their so kind and understanding. If your child is independent and not into technology and learns well by themselves than its be a great fit for your child. Our experience has been rough my son is 6 in kindergarten. He tells us daily how bored he is Hes knows the martial just not interested at all. Kids don't receive individual attention even though the class is 13 students smaller classes than public school so it was disheartening . With the school coming to an end I was told he may not graduate not because he doesn't know the material but because his behavior. They have sat him at a table by himself for quite some time using his behavior as the reason to sit him by himself that I didn't care for at all but tried to be understanding but how do you think it made a child feel? We always having the same issues with the same students. They left him out of a concert. Every kid held something but him its just to . ive asked in person and email if he's graduating and have been ignored asked thru email and no response. They changed me for cap and gown yet when it came to pictures they never took them not once but couple of times placing blame on a him. I was hoping for better result because its private school but thats not our case We should have done more research. If your child into technology noo this is not the school its a little old school so go check it out very patient and kindParent Review1mo ago5 Reviews
