Read what parents are saying about Mansfield Legacy High SchoolThis school is super unorganized and my kids counselor doesn't care about him
Posted by a parent on 11/26/2022My experience at legacy high school was amazing until my senior year. They have great extracurricular teams such as drill team, band, debate team, etc. When covid struck, both of my families lost their jobs making it impossible to avoid the free lunches provided. The school food is as low of quality as possible, giving me and many of my peers eating disorders. I have personally lost 20 pounds (an unhealthy amount for my body mass index) from not eating their cheap food. I also want it noted that I eat regularly on weekends. The next complaint I have is that we cant decorate our caps for our graduation. My senior class had our fake football season, our pep rallies taken, and our spirits crushed by impending due dates and they have the audacity to pat themselves on the back saying "MISD has been diligent in providing as many normal experiences as possible throughout the 2020-21 school year" we didn't have a normal year, don't take this tradition away from us.
Posted by a student on 4/13/2021Legacy High school is a great school. My son was in a private school and we moved to Mansfield. The teachers and administrators of Legacy made my son feel comfortable and help him to transition and adapt to the school. The programs they have with Ben Barber are awesome. The advance placement programs as well. This is the best highschool ever!
Posted by a community member on 1/3/2017My child loves going to Legacy High School! It has been such a positive experience for him and myself. The teachers and administrators go out of their way to communicate with both student and parents. The Advanced Placement program they run at that campus has already saved my family thousands of dollars in future college tuition by allowing his potential to be seen with his passing scores that he will receive college credit for once he graduates.I can not express how grateful we are for such a wonderful educational experience.
Posted by a community member on 8/17/2016This school along with Ben Barber afforded my son to go to Nationals for BPA in Anaheim where he placed first in software engineering, 4th in Java and 5th in computer programming concepts. Th career tech school allows most kids to follow just about any dream they have. #loveMISD

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love this school! The teachers are great, my daughters love school and all the teachers are the sweetest. I feel my kids are supported and look forward to school. My oldest had a little bit of anxiety and all her teachers have been understanding and caring to help her through the school year. Prek is just phenomenal and well worth the tuition.Parent Review6mo ago - Willie Brown Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don’t recommend this school to anyone. Most of the teachers don’t care about the students. Not only the students , teachers bully other students as well. Students are so behind at reading, writing and math, if not, they will by end of the year! Please do your research and register you students in another school.Parent Review1y ago - Erma Nash Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMJS has so many loving and EXCELLENT teachers who are committed to excellence. My child has attended this school since kindergarten and is currently is 2nd grade. My kid is one of the youngest in his grade, struggles with reading, and has a disability, however, this school’s culture of excellence and care ensures that he grows every year. Mr. Legeune is a wonderful principal. He knows his students by name and you can tell he loves and cares for students while also ensuring staff are supported. He is retiring this year and will be missed. Ms. Proctor is an outstanding AP and she is a great advocate for students and teachers. She has been a blessing while navigating how to best support the growth of my kid, us as parents, and my child’s teachers with the challenges my kid has faced. Ms. Bickford is a wonderful teacher who does an awesome job bridging learning at school to support parents at home. She is a rockstar in the classroom and brought my child from well below scores to 80%< accuracy and fluency who’s a student who struggled to know many letters in Kindergarten and got him READING by the end of 1st grade. Ms. Johnson has also been wonderful and the data shows again the my child’s reading score went up from a 14 to a 62 (50 points) and the school year is not over. I have found MJS teachers do great work in their classes, but student success must be supported at home and parent involvement is crucial to student success. I have found most teachers at MJS to be great collaborators with parents and all teachers put the kids first. Ms. Lundeen, the new nurse this year, also stands out and she is the most kind, sweet, and loving person. She provides outstanding care to my child who must see the nurse daily! The teachers and staff that are a part of the before and afterschool are ALL awesome. They start and end our school day with the highest quality of care, love, and support. Their program provides awesome variety and keeps my kid happy even when he has longer days than most kids. We love them!!!Parent Review1mo ago - Nancy Neal Elementary School
