My child was referred to the 6th grade counselor by a teacher under concerns of depression. This counselor, instead of addressing the psychological needs of my child and contacting me with a referral for a therapist, took the opportunity to preach to my child about God. The counselor did not bother
Posted by a parent on 6/2/2023I'm in my last year at Asa Low, and the school is good in terms of education. I am enrolled in pre-AP classes. They're fairly challenging and keep me engaged. My teachers have overall been average, although my 5th grade science teacher went above and beyond for her students.
Posted by a student on 9/26/2017So far so good. No complaints. My kid is learning and doing well. Although its only the first six weeks. Will need to review again at the end of year. My kid is in 5th grade so will attend this school again next year.

Kids can take "pre-AP" classes, but all of them are too slow for my son, and he is not a genius. Any kid can sign up for pre-AP classes. Ratio is 24:1. A few teachers are excellent, others gi
Posted by a parent on 4/29/2013This school is a new school. My kids attend this school, for a year, and so far the school has proved to be a safe environment for my kids. Most teachers appear to be competent in their selected subjects. Safety is a big thing at this school. The rating is five stars.

They speak as if everyone should know the expectations, procedures, & standards for events and the overall communicatory tone can be condescending. They provide so many opportunities for families to participate in student learning and partner with the PTA to bring so many extras to enhance the student’s education. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have lived in south Arlington for over 20 years and my kids attended DP Morris Elementary and I was extremely impressed with the Teachers and Staff and the care given to the students, however I currently have a student at Janet Brockett and I am extremely disappointed in the Teachers and the staff at this school. They seem to care more about fundraiser and events than teaching their students or student health. This is from the top down. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo not send your child here.On the first day they didn’t even know who my child was and put her in a class of 3 year olds. When I said something about the end of day report app the director said they do t use it for 3 year olds. I said well she is 2…. The two year old class was clearly too full. The infant class smells terrible. The floor and walls are sticky and drawn on.Director is not welcoming and seems in a rush or irritated by parent interactions with her. Lastly they let someone take my child from the school without checking her Id or if she was even on the list. All of this happened in 3 days.This place is cheap and unorganized. I wish I could get my money back but Tonya hasn’t called me back. I want to report this negligence to the state as well on Monday. BEWARE!!!Parent Review1y ago
