Read what parents are saying about Pineywoods Community Academy Elementary SchoolNegative number and way below standards big time
Posted by a parent on 2/24/2018This school can never do anything on time always 10 to 15 minutes late, Staff never check if students have not turn in things on time and then you spend the day on the phone dealing with crap. Teachers think people are made of money and can buy stuff next day and are always giving big food projects that are due the next day. The school is full of nepotism and they seem to only hire family of current staff and teachers. The only thing great at this school is the Nurses some of the best i have seen.
Posted by a parent on 2/19/2018Both my son and daughter have attended pineywoods since Kindergarten. Each child has their own difficulties in different areas. All the teachers at our school are educated on how to mentor your child as an individual and in a group setting. The children requiring more attention get it. The children that are emotionally distraut even for one day are addressed to correct the individual hurdle and succeed. The administration is an excellent venue for communication. Should you have a problem almost always it is corrected through the teacher should you have valid problems. Every situation is addressed should it have to go to a higher level. My kids love their school. They are loyal. Most of all Pineywoods offers stability on a number of different issues for children. This provides an even education that all children are entitled. I always suggest Pineywoods for their curriculum and their devotion to the children to help them SUCCEED.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDay two only at this school, and this just keeps getting worse. We were called into the school TWICE today, and now my boys can't even ride the bus home. Someone from the school also bangs on our door everyday with uniforms (we do indeed have a doorbell)--even though I told her we would buy our own already (and actually HAVE). I am feeling very invaded and stressed out right now, and I don't know what to do about any of it. As I said this is only day two, but if what my husband and I have already experienced is any indication, this is one school parents should avoid.Parent Review7y ago - Trout Primary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe whole school is incredibly disorganized and there always seems to be a staff member in a frenzy to get it together. The kids are constantly yelled at to not talk and socialize, they are kept in the classroom majority of the day (with the exception of about an hour and 45 minutes when they are at lunch, specials, or recess) doing endless worksheets almost everyday (this is in person teaching too). A lot of the students are not progressing in reading and/or math skills and nothing is really done about it by the teachers. The teachers are constantly doing testing with the students for the same results. There’s constantly an issue with behavior between the students and the teachers. Some teachers don’t even have control of their classroom. There’s no order in this school, the principle wants instruction to take place but doesn’t do much to actually implement anything affective as does the instructional coach. Lastly and most importantly, the principal and some teachers have made ignorant, micro aggressive comments towards the demographic of their students and staff of minority ethnicity. If your child is POC and/or Hispanic/Latinx, do not send them to this school. There is racial prejudice amongst some of the staff. Overall, I would recommend any other school in the district. I just don’t feel like this school has it together for a great, fair, and proper educational experience (IMO).Other Review2y ago - Special Services

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family has been a part of HCS for going on three years now and I started out a single mom receiving a financial aid program, that helped me send my kiddos there! I am going on the 3rd year, now happily married and watching my family grow in god as well as academics!!! I know that this school has saved myself and kept my kids close to the Lord! praise him... HCS is there for the kids and it is well worth the full tution payments we now make and can afford, thank you HCS!!! we love you and will be with you for many years to come. My husband and I agree that HCS is the way to go, our kids get the one on one time with the teachers that they need. It is hard to get that kind of attention in public schools these days... And most of all, our kids Love school and GOD!!!Parent Review12y ago - St Cyprian's Episcopal School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Cyprian's Episcopal School provides a well-rounded curriculum and a loving environment for the students. There is also a strong spiritual emphasis, which I believe is extremely important. The teachers and staff are truly dedicated to providing the best they can for each and every student.Parent Review11y ago - St Patrick Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has attended St. Patrick Catholic School since PreK-3, and is now entering into 2nd grade. We absolutely love this school. Their truly is a sense of family here, and my child is loved and nurtured. We love the daily Religion classes, and the well-structured routine. The faculty at this school will pray for your family when needed. This is a super special place!Parent Review1y ago
