Our experience with the previous school was very concerning and, at times, upsetting. One of the most serious issues involved a safety-related incident during dismissal, where our son was released without our knowledge or authorization. We later found him outside the school, alone and crying. Thankfully, he was physically safe, but the situation was extremely distressing for us as parents.In addition, the overall experience had a noticeable emotional impact on him. For a period of time, he experienced frequent nightmares related to school, which was very difficult for us to see as parents.There were also other moments where I felt communication and handling of situations could have been more appropriate and supportive for a child his age. After raising these concerns with Allen Independent School District, I felt that the response was more focused on supporting the school’s position rather than fully addressing our concerns, despite the information we provided.Ultimately, we made the decision to transfer him to another school. Since then, the difference has been very clear. The new school is highly rated, and the contrast between a lower-rated school and a higher-rated one has been very noticeable. The environment is more welcoming, leadership is visible and engaged, and there is a clear culture of treating students with care and respect. This change has had a very positive impact on our son’s well-being, and it was one of the best decisions we made for him.

After rezoning, Allen ISD treats this school as Title 1, but not officially.If your kid is in 3rd or 5th grade (23/24 school year), my condolences. Your kid would be in the terrible environment of uncontrollable kids.Allen ISD and the school administration are trying to avoid resolving the issue, thinking that these kids will leave for middle school eventually and they will be relieved.Teachers aren't getting any meaningful support so kids who are ready for education would get it. They have decided that gathering kids with behavioral issues together and not helping them is a game changer. Teachers are exhausted and dreaming for a job change, some even want to switch professions.I'm really sorry for homeowners who stuck with this school. And really sorry for AIM kids who stuck in this. Hope middle school will be a relief for them.Your taxpayers dollars are thrown to the trash.Parents often aren't interested in their kids' day-to-day life in school.Welcome to the City of Allen ...

All the teachers where great and very nice

I am a student here and overall I would not ever recommend sending your child here. There is so much attention put into higher ground. And how necessary they say it is for your students to be there. It is elevated much over academics, which is why I am here to receive an education not to be prodded with their fake things they say they believe. They claim to be inclusive and to talk to every student and to prioritize making time for everyone.But they don't. The environment is fake.They only talk to the students or make time for them.If they are one of their favorites or the ones that stick out and try their hardest to be teachers pets. .I would indeed not recommend going here. It has been the worst experience of my entire life. And causes me a great amount of heartache and stress when it is unnecessary.
