Delay Middle School

I am on this website researching schools because we are relocating to another state. My child has attended McA for 4 years and I am heartbroken he will not get to attend the last 2 at this school. It is like a family - teachers and staff are committed to help the kids learn to be good people and give them skills for life, not only academics. We will miss this school family terribly.

Our autistic child has been bullied at this school since the first day they started there. We have visited the school numerous times with resistance at first but with added pressures they reluctantly helped us. After another incident involving my second child being bullied by older children for defending his special needs brother. The administration sided with the bully and simply brushed the assault that led to my autistic child protecting his little brother from an older student as if it was justified. They punished my autistic child who has stated he wanted to kill himself at school for being the aggressor, even with video that shows otherwise. They keep claiming my kids said something unruly but the video has no audio and they are going on the word of 8-10 year olds. This issue was brought up to the district but like the school they ignored the real issue and deflected to another issue keeping their deficiencies from being mentioned. This is unacceptable and honestly deplorable treatment of a special needs child.

My son was in the special education program, and didn't really progress scholastically at all. He was pretty young and used to be very excited about going to school but after about a week or so, he hated going to school all of the sudden. The teachers don't really update properly when it comes to progress or incidents.

Treated our daughter horribly day one. Staff is terrible at getting back to you in a timely manner. In enrolled her day one and they would not give back any money. If you want your child to go to a school that is responsive and cares for your child, look elsewhere. Doesn't feel like God is at this establishment. Poor kids

Montessori Episcopal School has been an amazing experience for our family. Both of my boys attended the school — my older son started at 2.5 years old, and my younger son started at 9 months old.The teachers and leadership are wonderful. The Head of School has been there for over 20 years, and many teachers have also stayed with the school for a long time. The teachers truly seem happy, caring, and passionate about teaching children.MES helped my children build a strong academic foundation and a real love for learning and reading. My older son started reading independently around age 6, and the curriculum is strong even in the toddler classrooms.The classrooms are creative and engaging, with gardening, classroom pets, hands-on activities, and special visitors that make learning exciting. The school also makes sure children spend time outdoors every day, and the facilities are always well maintained and updated.I also appreciate the strong sense of community. The school hosts many family events throughout the year, which helped both my children and our family build meaningful friendships and connections.Overall, MES provided a warm, nurturing, and joyful environment where both of my children thrived academically and socially. We are very grateful for our experience there.
