North Elementary School

Overall, the teachers provide a wonderful learning experience. It is the school front office staff that are extremely exclusive. They put on events at the school, but if you dont have money, dont have a car, dont have a computer or dont have internet access, well then, you are out of luck. They set up events for you to spend time with your children for their events, but then demand you have access yo certain things in order to participate. If you dont have access to cash, sorry, if you dont have access to internet, sorry, if you dont have access to a computer, sorry. Also, I have witnessed the principal make inappropriate comments during a school function, asking to parents to kiss again, in the middle of a children's function. Incredibly unacceptable.

I will be updating this review as time progresses. Teachers YELLING at a 6yr old is UNACCEPTABLE.

Reading these reviews I feel like I’m looking at a completely different school from the experience that my girls have had here. We have had great teachers, felt supported when the odd occurrences happen concerning other kid’s behavior. I try to stay involved as much as possible in my children’s learning and maybe that’s a difference as well as having no special needs kids to deal with. We love Camacho Elementary. The only thing that is off is that there is not a lot of parental engagement there compared to where my older kids went. Maybe it more parents get involved and support the school they will have a better outcome.

As a parent, I couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Rancho Sienna Elementary School. From the very first day, it's been clear that this school truly cares about the success and well-being of each student. What stands out most to me is how they balance both testing and student engagement in a way that helps my child not just succeed academically, but really enjoy learning.

We moved to Larkspur in 2020, during Covid. Both my daughter, 4th grade, and son 2nd grade, attended virtual learning. The experience with virtual learning was a positive one. Once in person learning resumed, my son (entering 3rd grade) struggled with social anxiety and depression from an increased use of devices. There was no initiative to help him, or other kids, who might have been struggling as well. Instead, they matched us up with a 504 coordinator, which may have caused even more exclusion and a belief that he was “different” and in his words, “weak”. There was a safety incident on the swings, where he broke his thumb and wasn’t even taken to the nurse. He came home with a broken, swollen thumb. When speaking with the AS, I was told that his teacher asked him if he was okay and he said “yes”. He was 10 years old!! We were also called to the school one time because he was struggling in math and had suicidal ideation. The counselor sent us a bunch of links and that was about it. They once had dismissal in a thunderstorm and he was standing, soaking wet on the corner when I arrived for him. His last year, I came in to his classroom and found that he had incomplete projects and his handwriting hadn’t improved. When I reached out, they gave me the run around and suggested Kumon. I don’t want another kid to have this elementary experience. Please try for open enrollment at another school.

Our family had an excellent experience at this school. The teachers are dedicated, supportive, and genuinely care about each student's growth and success. Throughout our child's time here, we consistently felt that the staff created a positive learning environment where students were encouraged to challenge themselves while feeling supported.One of the things we appreciate most is how well the school prepared our child for the transition to middle school. The academic foundation, study habits, and confidence developed here made a significant difference. Thanks in large part to the education and support received at this school, our child was able to start middle school successfully and continues to earn A Honor Roll recognition.Beyond academics, the school helped foster responsibility, independence, and a love of learning. Communication with families was strong, and the teachers were always willing to help when questions or concerns arose.Looking back, we are very grateful for our experience here. This school played an important role in our child's development, and we would highly recommend it to families looking for a supportive school community with caring teachers and strong academic preparation.
