5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI will never recommend Belt Line Elementary after my experience enrolling my son.I work a full-time job (9 AM–6 PM) and had to take time off to enroll him. His first day was August 13, 2025, and at no point during enrollment was I informed that students needed to be fully potty-trained to attend. My son is 3, has made a lot of progress with potty training, but isn’t completely there yet.I dropped him off at 7:45 AM, and by 11 AM, his teacher called about the potty training issue. She mentioned she had looked in his backpack, saw his pull-ups, but never checked again. I asked if he could finish the day or the week, and she said she’d follow up and have the principal call me.By 2 PM, I still hadn’t heard back, so I called the school myself. The woman I spoke with bluntly told me the potty training requirement would have been discussed during “Tiger Night” and “Meet the Teacher Night” — both of which fell during my work hours, and as a single mom, I couldn’t take more time off. When I asked what could be done, she simply said I could unenroll my son and re-enroll once he’s fully potty-trained.At 3 PM, I went to pick him up. The receptionist struggled to get in touch with his teacher, even having to call another teacher. While I waited, both ladies in the office were on their personal phones. When his teacher finally brought him, she rudely commented that he “wasn’t listening.” I soon realized she hadn’t given me his nap mat, so I went back inside. She asked if it was in his backpack — it wasn’t — but when I checked, I saw the lunch I had packed was still in there, untouched. My son told me he hadn’t eaten, meaning they also failed to feed him.For some reason, they had also placed tan painter’s tape on his shirt with his name and teacher’s name on it, yet in the photos posted to Class Dojo, no other child had this. Eventually, a man (not his teacher) brought me the nap mat, and we left.To make matters worse, I noticed on the sign-out sheet that multiple other children in his grade were sent home for wetting themselves. Not allowing pull-ups or diapers for 3-year-olds but sending children home for accidents is unreasonable — and something that absolutely should be communicated at registration, not after the first day. This entire experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and left me deeply disappointed.Parent Review9mo ago16 Reviews - Berne Academy
