School administration seems very indifferent to the needs of children with special needs. My child was determined having High Functioning Autism and placed in Special Ed in KG. One Saturday the child informed of a bulling experience during playtime the day before. It took more than a couple of weeks and repeated attempts to make an appointment with Principal. However the meeting was a staggering disappointment. My 5 years old child clearly described what happened. Firstly, the Special Ed teacher said that the school was not responsible of whatever took place on a Saturday. I wonder if she was even paying attention to what we said. Then the Principal went into outlandish speculations of how what my child said may not even happened, but was perceived so. I was lost for words at her indifference. All I hoped was that knowing that a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder will need more care, that they would do a better job at watching during the playtime. But the Special Ed said that they watch all the children alike. Obviously she lacked understanding of what child with special needs meant. As for education, the regural teaching staff seems to be very proficient, qualified and dedicated.

Any review of this school that is positive is obviously a paid review. My daughter transferred here from Oklahoma with a learning disability (Dyslexia). Exactly 2 weeks before the Christmas break, the administration finally decided to address her Dyslexia, after weeks of the staff saying we never completed the forms. Which we did. I have the receipts to prove it. Fist day of school bullying started, and the teacher did nothing. Tried to talk to the principle, who said I should take it up with the teacher. (If the teacher would have resolved the issue why would I go above her?) My kid now studies martial arts as a result of my dissatisfaction. I'm also concerned about what my child is being taught in the "diversity" Example , She was told that she cant listen to Tom Petty Free Falling, because its Christen music. Not to mention the constant bombardment of email asking us to sign up for free meals. Which I've repeatedly said we don't need. I would also dear to say that this school is pretty left wing even though they are non-partisan (yea right)In Short I would not suggest that academic serious parent should their kids there. I will be enrolling her a better school district at the end of the school year.

I have 2 kids going through La Villita. My oldest has had amazing teachers. She loved all of her teachers, specifically Ms. Modi. This year her new kinder teacher sent a negative email about not asking any questions- really negative. I wish Ms. Modi did not leave
