Read what parents are saying about Brandenburg Elementary SchoolI had my kid last year on this school and decided to switch to different school after an incident with her took a place, She had her Birthday and she was so exited as a kid about it when she was on the class she told the substitute teacher today is my birthday the substitute teacher responding in a shocking way she ( are you F*** stupide go set on your chair) that how she respond to 9 year old they said investigation took a place but the result of that investigation is a personal matter and they can't share it. There is no homework and they keep going for days without learning anything.
Posted by a parent on 10/17/2023While the campus seems nice and they appear to have adequate resources but not state of the art by any means. The real issue with this school is consistency. They will tell you at the beginning of the year that additional instruction will be needed but then don't start tutoring or additional instruction for "average" kids until close to STAAR testing. I have never spoken with the principal and I was informed once that she didn't wish to be disturbed. The dual language program does not seem to be beneficial to english language speakers; if they stuggle the teacher response is "we can't help". Parent involvement seems limited to school district employees who have kids in the school. There is a communication issue with parents and getting volunteers. Overall, I am disappointed that I wasted several yrs of my child's education in this school. We are moving to charter school that will not be overcrowded and learning can be personalized. Perhaps the new principal coming in next year will improve the school. Just to note, great teachers Mr. Singh, Mrs. Cruz, Ms. Seminario.
Posted by a parent on 6/5/2014Well I just graduated from this school like 2 weeks ago & I really loved it there! I haven't been in Brandenburg since kindergarten, I started going to Brandenurg at the age of 7 I was about to go to 2nd grade but my parents decided to move from the house we where before. So then my dad found the perfect house, and my mom was looking for a school & she found Brandenburg. My teachers of 2nd grade were amazing well all of the teachers are! Even though I haven't been in that school since kinder, I am going to miss that school so much! Oh also Brandenburg has this thing called "Dual Language"! Dual language is something that helps you talk & right in English & in Spanish! I love this school so much!! :)

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe performing arts program at Universal Academy put on the Wiz and our son was one of many great performers in the show. The diverse group of students performing was wonderful to witness. They came together as a great example to all.Parent Review2y ago - Farine Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would recommend any parent that lives in the Irving ISD to seek education elsewhere. There is no diversity in the staff which has been proven as a barrier for African-American students. If 18% of the student body makeup is African American then the staff should reflect that as well. Mr. Pollard will talk to you as if you as a parent knows nothing. His decision making skills are subpar. My daughter started her kindergarten year off with one teacher that went on maternity leave after the first two weeks. She then spent the next 5 months of the year with an amazing long term substitute, who just so happens not to be certified. I say amazing because during her time there she was able to help my daughter more than double most of her test scores, she actively tried to build a relationship with the students AND parents, and because those kids loved her especially my own. After the original teacher decided she wouldnt return then they hired someone else that is certified to take over the last 3 months of the school year. Everyday since I have gotten a phone call because of my daughter's behavior and they all act like its some big shock. My daughter was the closest with the sub so yes it has thrown her off. Since this new teacher has been placed they are no longer going on site words. She was told that the kids had no structure before she got there and that they didnt know their basic shape names, allllll of which is not true. I have old school work my child has brought home that shows they in fact were learning these things. And now my child cant even tell me what she did at school today because of the lack of structure whereas before she could tell me the approximate time (because the sub was teaching that too) they did most of the activities for the day. I will not be surprised if her next test scores arent as great. I try to go over whatever she's been learning at school but NOW I have nothing to go off of. I've tried being the active parent but after being treated like I myself am not college educated and being lied to I'll most definitely be moving her to a better school and ISD. Im also disappointed in the only black face you will see aside from 3 or 4 teachers, the assistant principal. All skin folk aint kin folk.Parent Review2y ago - Keyes Elementary School
