Fantastic small school, with an outstanding program for disabled students. Highly recommend! Principal is engaged with his students and staff, and administration is so helpful.

Although this school struggles with under-funding from federal and local agencies, the teachers and administrators manage to do a fantastic job at maintaining the quality of education and safety of our children. Their teachers truly care about the students, and make every effort to ensure success for every student.

The worst school district I have ever dealt with.

I went to this school, coming from a 5-A school, where I made A and B, then failing or just passing, and even then there was a bullying problem. I had my girls going to Iola ISD and they begged me for several years to take them out and transfer them to any other school I could. I finally did this year, I had no choice in the matter. I enrolled a child that is so smart, made A while she was in Iola, but the kids there just would not leave her alone, so another student started a fight with her, and because the other student was in sports the principle took that students side, and basicly laughed in my students face, telling her not to even think about coming back but the real sad part is that the teachers knew what was going on and did NOT stand up for her. How can you set a example if you cannot stand up for what you beleive in. That drew the line, I would not recommend IolaISD to anyone, and many parents have taken their children out of this school because of the BULLYING ISSUES. If your child is not in sports or band, have money, or they aren't beautiful, then get ready for a hard year. Good Luck to you and your kids are in our prayers

I loathe this school district. I am not just a parent submitting a review; I also attended this school during my high school years. I transferred from a metropolitan area to this school district. Iola s main focus is athletics and band so as far as extra curricular programs they are extremely lacking. The school only offers what the state requires for your child to graduate. So if your child has any extra credits from another school district they might not recognize them because they don t offer the courses like photography and German for example. This happened to me personally when I transferred to this school. They are a small town school with small town views that shun outsiders from big cities. The teachers here have pet students that can do no wrong, and get privileges not permitted to the rest of the students. The school in the past has had a dilemma with UIL for giving their football players passing grades just to keep on the team. If your child doesn t fit in he or she will be doomed and be prepared to fight a loosing battle, and get away from this school, like I did with my child. The problems here at this school are not worth your child s future.
