Read what parents are saying about Hutto Middle SchoolThe leadership likes to talk and say all the right things but they don't want to engage with parents when they reach out and just ignore them. Most teachers are rude, lazy and don't care if a students puts in the work or not, they seem them all the same. You can't reason with teachers, they simply ignore you and if you prove them wrong, they will go after your kid. Nothing is done to reward students who put in the work and effort to do well, they are just bunched with the rest. All it takes is one unruly student for the whole group to be disciplined which greatly frustrates those who do want to learn. I will never understand this method of punishing the whole to teach the few a lesson, it has never worked before and will not work now. I thought Hutto ISD would be better than Pflugerville but clearly not the case.My son says the police do random searches of their backpacks, they ask the students to leave the classroom and bring in a K-9. Sounds like a great place to send your kids. Do yourself a favor and enroll your kids in a private school if you can afford it or online academy. My son is thriving since enrolling in Texas Connections Academy, it is more rigorous but they will be better prepared for High School.

Amazing. 100 times better than any 9 point school in Austin. Diversity and Inclusion at its best. Pray that it continues to be so.Parent Review7mo ago - Nadine Johnson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child just started and I must say the experience has been awful. His teacher has an attitude and cannot handle pressure. Her frustration showed all the way through our conversation. There are not many adults outside in the morning to monitor these kids. I pray that one doesn’t dart out in to the middle of the street! Definitely miss his previous school. If I could move out of the hutto district I would. One of Worst districts hands down. 0 stars!Parent Review1y ago - Ray Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy wife and I have 2 children attending Ray and I am very pleased. We have been there for 3 years now. Very disciplined but also loving. The administration is very well organized and supports their teachers and students well. They were able to update technology and my kids LOVE Ray. I have never had to beg them to go to school there :)Parent Review10y ago - Veterans Hill Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was worried my grand daughter would be held back after we moved to Texas from Oregon. She hated school and was not doing well. She was entering 3rd grade at beginning first grade level. I spoke with the principle, Ms. Patureau and she came in and actually tested my grand daughter herself. She advised that she believed my grand daughter had learning disabilities. The schools in Oregon never even tested her. She recommended more testing and NOT holding her back. After the testing was completed, we went to the school for a meeting to receive the results. I was blown away! When we arrived, there were 11 teachers present to talk about what they tested her for, how they tested her, what the results meant and most importantly, their plan for moving forward to help her succeed. She was diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Unbelievable engagement and effort by the exceptional staff at Veterans Hill Elementary. After one year, she tested at mid 2nd grade level, after two years, she is only slightly behind. Additionally, she now loves school and she loves her teachers! She also participates in extra curricular activities like choir, chess club and girl scouts. I am so grateful, thank you to all the staff at Veterans Hill!Parent Review3y ago - Howard Norman Elementary School
