Read what parents are saying about Pineforest Elementary SchoolAll three of our children have attended Pine Forest Elementary and we absolutely love it. We moved from Louisiana to Texas due to several hurricanes and have had an amazing experience here. The administration as well as the teachers do an exemplary job to make sure that our kids are well taken care of as well as their friends.
Posted by a parent on 9/21/2023We moved from Louisiana to Texas about five years ago and chose where to live based on the school system. I have to say that I've never been more disappointed. Both of my children were bullied the entire time they were enrolled there. I think it was even worst for my daughter. It got so bad that I had to take her out of Pine Forest for 2017-18 school year. Her grades were slipping because of her hatred to wanting to go to school, and I couldn't seem to bring her spirits up. Every time there was an incident and I'd be called to the school, I couldn't seem to get the situation under control because it was like the staff didn't care. Now that she's homeschooled, I've built up her character and she's no longer depressed. I have to say that if you advertise 'No Place for Hate', then follow through with it. It's very, very disheartening. Overall, my children did have at least two teachers that were amazing. My advice to parents, make sure to read reviews and research the school for your kids.
Posted by a parent on 4/11/2019I strongly disagree with this assessment. First the student to teacher ration is more like 24:1. The kindergarten classes all share one great room with cubicle walls to separate them. Yes half walls covered in carpet. The principle is decided ineffectual. 3 weeks after sending the principle a letter voicing our concerns about the lack of communication from the teacher, the lack of a good learning environment and how rigorous the matriculation is not , the teacher called us to "handle this problem in a timely manner." The physical education of students consists of running a lap before recess. I am told there is a PE teacher but I am not sure what their function is. We only decided to leave our child in this school to finish out the year because of the stress added to her in changing schools. My advice is to find another school or don't expect much!
Posted by a parent on 4/15/2014My daughter started 2nd grade here, and has been thriving. She absolutely loves her teacher, and I can't say I have any complaints either. We transferred her here from a Houston ISD school, and I was concerned that she was falling behind in math and reading. She has really been improving a lot in those subjects since the beginning of the year. I love the fact that she has art and music now, and she seems to really enjoy her hands-on science class. This school really restored my faith in the public school system.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feared that my 3 year old son was either speech delayed or autistic. Timbers ignored my formal request for evaluation for months. I went to the school to ask about the delay and found out someone had quit and my child’s file was just collecting dust. The principal explained all of this to me in Timbers waiting room and said all my son needed was socialization in a daycare setting. She completely brushed off serious issues about ASD and never invited me into her office, despite tears running down my face. Eventually a diagnostician did test my son, but she was decades behind the industry standards on ASD. A verbal IQ test was administered to a 3 year autistic child who was expected to sit at a desk and answer standardized test questions. From this botched evaluation, my son’s IQ was absurdly low. I am still trying to get that inaccurate number removed from my son’s file, despite multiple conversations with district level SPED personnel. I had a local ABA clinic complete a play-based ADOS evaluation on my son which was appropriate. After a horrendous initial IEP meeting and only a few weeks of pre-k at Timbers, I decided to enroll my son in ABA therapy full time. He is making great progress and is so much happier. If you suspect your child is on the spectrum bypass the slow, outdated public school system and go directly to an ABA clinic for help.Parent Review2y ago - Maplebrook Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are amazing. They have done an amazing job at helping students feel supported throughout the pandemic. I am an Administrator in Education (not within Humble ISD) and I could not imagine having my child go through the last year at any other school. Huge thank you to Mrs. Benavidez for being such an amazing caring teacher this past year. This academic year just started and so far my daughter is loving her new teacher (Mrs. Portis) - she said, "Mom she is strict but so much fun!"Thank you to the entire Lakeshore team!Parent Review2y ago - Atascocita Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter and son have been attending Atascocita Montessori for over a year. They both love going to school every day and have learned so much. Much to our surprise, our daughter was reading and doing addition/subtraction before her 5th birthday. Ms. Ray, Ms. April and Ms. Gaby go above and beyond to make the learning process seem effortless. The director, Ms Loree Hill is top notch and truly cares for the wellbeing of every child. We love AMS and highly recommend.Parent Review1y ago - Atascocita Springs Elementary School
