NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease, for the sake of your children, do not send them to this school. What happened to my son here is something no parent should ever have to recount. On his way to training one afternoon, he stopped and politely asked if he could use the bathroom. He was told to wait, so he sat there patiently, trusting that an adult would eventually help him. Instead, when someone finally came, he was cruelly kicked out and denied access to the restroom. As a result, my child was humiliated in the worst possible way. He soiled himself in public, in front of other children, and now carries a deep emotional scar from that experience. To deny a desperate child a bathroom is not discipline, it is not policy, it is not order—it is cruelty of the highest degree.I do not care what the written rules of this school may be. There are moments that demand basic human decency, compassion, and empathy. When a child is begging to use the bathroom, you do not respond with dismissal and humiliation. What this school allowed to happen to my son is inexcusable, and to me, unforgivable. This is not simply a failure of policy, it is a failure of humanity. Parents, please think twice before entrusting your child’s well-being to an institution that can display such coldness and disregard for a child in distress.Other Review8mo ago14 Reviews - The Imani School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a student at this school, and I think some things need to be improved. 4th grade and up has to eat lunch in our classrooms instead of a cafeteria, which makes it feel like we never get a real break from class. There’s also no real social studies taught which is disappointing because it’s an important subject. Right after state testing the main focus is the school play. While it’s fun for some students, it takes away from our regular classes. We barely learn anything during those months. I didn’t go to English class for weeks. Some teachers need to be let go.Student Review1y ago35 Reviews - Trafton Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was a really bad experience, and even after a year of being away from this institution I still find myself concerned for the students there. The carpool is extremely unsafe. The administration and the only third grade teacher there have extremely troubling practices that my wife tried desperately to have Trafton's board examine, only to find out the eighth grade language arts teacher is on that very board as treasurer and the president is the commissioner of the board that oversees that board. The school also heavily practices nepotism throughout throughout its staff, faculty and administration, which allows many teachers' egos to go unchecked. We have since transferred to a music charter school within HISD, we have experienced zero problems in the conflict / resolution protocols. Even though our child passed literacy exams that were required prior to acceptance, we were informed during the initial tour of the school that Trafton does not under any circumstances accept children with disabilities, simply because they do not have the funds to 'accommodate their special needs.'Parent Review11mo ago34 Reviews
