4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feared that my 3 year old son was either speech delayed or autistic. Timbers ignored my formal request for evaluation for months. I went to the school to ask about the delay and found out someone had quit and my child’s file was just collecting dust. The principal explained all of this to me in Timbers waiting room and said all my son needed was socialization in a daycare setting. She completely brushed off serious issues about ASD and never invited me into her office, despite tears running down my face. Eventually a diagnostician did test my son, but she was decades behind the industry standards on ASD. A verbal IQ test was administered to a 3 year autistic child who was expected to sit at a desk and answer standardized test questions. From this botched evaluation, my son’s IQ was absurdly low. I am still trying to get that inaccurate number removed from my son’s file, despite multiple conversations with district level SPED personnel. I had a local ABA clinic complete a play-based ADOS evaluation on my son which was appropriate. After a horrendous initial IEP meeting and only a few weeks of pre-k at Timbers, I decided to enroll my son in ABA therapy full time. He is making great progress and is so much happier. If you suspect your child is on the spectrum bypass the slow, outdated public school system and go directly to an ABA clinic for help.Parent Review4y ago5 Reviews - Maplebrook Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe environment here does not feel welcoming or culturally aware. It felt like my child was constantly being singled out, misunderstood, and treated differently than the white students. As a parent, it’s heartbreaking to watch your child be labeled or disciplined over things that other kids were simply redirected for.To make matters worse, communication with staff has been dismissive, unprofessional, and lacking basic compassion. Instead of working with me, they escalated situations unnecessarily and made me feel like my concerns didn’t matter. I’m removing my child from this school because it’s clear this environment is not built for kids who don’t fit their mold.If you are a parent of a child of color, please be cautious. My experience showed me that this school lacks cultural sensitivity, fairness, and understanding — and no family should have to fight this hard to be treated with basic respect.Parent Review6mo ago7 Reviews - Eagle Springs Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe test scores and great school ratings speak for themselves. It has not been a bad experience but parents that want more for their kids are figuring out other options. Parents are pretty much barred from classrooms and not allowed to observe...lots of complaints about that one.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Atascocita Springs Elementary School
