Mahanay Elementary School

My daughter has attended this school for two years. I like the school environment and events. I feel like they could do more to make sure parents socialize. But overall, I feel my daughter is learning and that her teachers and school staff are caring.

Teachers do not teach so students do not learn. Poor administration. Unfriendly and rude. My child’s teacher went on maternity leave half the year and had a substitute teacher most of the school year without any notice to the parents. My other child also had a substitute teacher most of the year as her homeroom teacher is a model and is never there. My children says that they don’t learn anything. Another one says that the teacher is always on her phone while they are “learning.” It’s very disappointing that the staff and teachers here don’t care about the child’s well-being or future. It’s pretty bad when your kids are telling you that they don’t learn anything at school. There are no parent teacher communication whatsoever. When I reach out to a teacher, I either not get a response or the response is a few days To a week late. Students do not have any homework or projects and are always just taking test at school. Principal never involved, have yet to see the principal and any school activities or plays. Staff will rush the kids out of the car at drop off in the rain!
