Read what parents are saying about Holland Middle Schoolmy son is currently going to this school, he once got jumped by a group of students and the school suspended him for a week while the other kids got suspended for three days. He.even told me a teacher was being racist and making fun of him and only him And the principal aka mrs.Ward picks favorites and if ur not one of her favorites she will treat you worse then other students she is also kicking out all the good teachers then gets mad when a student ask what happened to the teacher. if you want us child to have a good education I suggest you don't send them to this school.

Posted by a parent on 2/9/2021holland has ok teachers but students getting jumped on to and from school by furr high school kids who get off the bus in front of holland! the offical at the school do a very poor job in protecting these kids saftey my husbands had to change shifts at work so my son could be picked up from this so called school! no homework most kids have no books and is a overall poor school i'd never put another child of mines in there!!
Posted by a parent on 12/19/2012I am a student at Holland Middle School and although the kids arent very well behaved I have been there for two years now going on three.I am in the Vanguard program which is a program designed especially for kids who want to focus on their education as is AVID.The school is'not so bad itself ,true it could'use some improvment but it really is a good school.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf possible, I would give this school 1 and a half stars. I substituted there today along with a few other people. The 5th graders from many classes behaved terribly, and that was with their teachers still in the building for training. I have been there to substitute before and overall student behavior has gotten worse. I've been there for other grades as well. I am not sure if it's because of administration or overall expectations for the students but the overall behavior in the class I covered and what I saw in other classes lets me know that there are definitely many areas that need improvement in the school.Other Review7y ago - Martinez R Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved my two kids to this school because the ratings were great. After a not so good experience at another school my oldest child fell behind. We came in thinking it would take months for her to get where she needed to be. But, after entering De Zavala she was able to “catch up” in only a few weeks! Her reading improved incredibly! Her math knowledge grew and her overall confidence was boosted! My youngest who is in pre-k knows his numbers to 30, he knows his ABC’s and most of the letter sounds. It is October he’s learned this so quickly! I am truly amazed at their progress here. A few things I dislike is there is no after school programs. There used to be a YMCA but it is no longer offered. My work schedule varies and unfortunately getting to them by 2:50-3pm is a struggle for us. The school is also very small, when they did their holiday program we were all crammed in the cafeteria it was really uncomfortable. They’ve also attempted to do other events in the basketball courts, and it’s usually hot still crowded and short staffed. Wish they had more parking! Overall the great educational knowledge my kids have gained overshadows the negatives.Parent Review2y ago - Eliot Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this school years ago and the staff back then was awesome. I don't know what has happened to the school since then. I have 3 grand kids that attend this school. First off the staff is rude starting with the office, and the cafeteria staff. One of the Pre-K teacher's speaks very a harsh to the kids. If its up to me my Grand kids will not return to this school.Other Review6y ago - Port Houston Elementary School
