Hancock Elementary School

New principal Kompelien makes you sign in your kids late even if it’s 8:00 on the dot. I was the only parent she made do this, probably because we’re minority. Beware, you will be racially profiled. My son also has been bullied and not much has been done about it. They need to take that Karen energy about “tardies” and put it towards disciplining students who bully others.

As a parent of a former student at Matzke Elementary, I feel compelled to share our experience. During my daughter’s time at the school, she endured repeated instances of bullying that caused her distress. Despite bringing these concerns forward, I was disappointed by what felt like a lack of meaningful intervention or resolution from the teachers and staff. As a parent, it is deeply concerning about a child’s well being are not addressed with the urgency, empathy, and care they deserve. While I remain grateful for the genuine friendships my daughter’s amazing friends who provided her with much-needed support during a very difficult time I believe it is important for the school community to reflect on how student concerns are handled. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and protected in their learning environment.

Hello! I would really like someone at Yeager Elementary to let there staff member Yvette Hernandez in the front desk know that it is very important to acknowledge children and there parents. I believe she is not aware that as front desk and the first person you see at Yeager a pleasant disposition and a simple "Hello" or "Good Morning" goes a long way. The poor rapport that she has is not an indication of the School. However, since she is the first person you see her disposition leaves much to ask for at the school. This is our first year at Yeager and all the teachers are wonderful and much of the staff as well. When I HAVE to go inside the school to the front office, its usually no acknowledgement and I usually have to initiate the conversation if not we would just be standing there.

This school released both my children off their campus to strangers! The principal nor the AP took any accountability for this incident. No meeting, email or apology was ever given to ensure this wouldn’t happen again. Instead they put a newly printed dismissal procedure in my children’s folder. Which this procedure was never followed. This wasn’t miscommunication. It was a breach of my children’s safety that should have never happened.

Love the teachers and the warm friendly environment. The academics are outstanding.
