Cobb 6th Grade Campus

Well, the principal made my child cry at open house because they had all the kids in the same room, my kindergarten son saw his best friend and wanted to play the games they were playing. The principal made my son burst into tears saying he couldnt play with his best friend because those games were only for ymca after school program. Who puts a bunch of games and toys out during a pta/open house and thinks it's okay to yell at children because they want to join in too? The Pta meeting was a joke, like ten parents were there. I love my son's teacher, but everything about the school is kind of ghetto. We moved and my son now goes to a different school in the Deer Park school district and the difference is like night and day. He is actually happy to go to school and is doing fantastic. This school is a joke, they also screamed at my husband saying he couldn't come inside on father take your son to school day. Worst school ever. The principal needs to be fired. And my son already knows all they are teaching him. Run away from this school, plus more than half of the children are limited in English and they also have low test scores. So happy we got a better house and can send my son to a school that cares and does not exclude children or make them cry/yell at them.

The only reason I gave this school 2 stars is because the principal is at least kind. The AP (Mitchell) is not a good leader overall. He is very judgmental and stereotypes automatically. He also will listen to the staff before he verifies issues with the child or the parent. Rude and very sarcastic is he. This year was my child's first year in a full day elementary and it has indeed been the worst. The Kindergarten class doesn't even get a graduation and when I asked earlier in the year they told me they weren't sure of the date. Absolutely unorganized. While they are a Galena Park ISD they have the mannerisms of a shutdown HISD school.

This school is horrible! The only thing that is great is the fine arts departments and thats questionable. They put on this production begging for money. Let’s start with the academics the majority of the teachers aren’t certified which is fine, but the majority of the majority aren’t really teaching. And when they do they’re constantly dealing with behavioral problems. Leadership does nothing because they need the numbers. The students there are horrible, cursing out teachers searching inappropriate content thinking it’s funny. They’re expecting Ivy League with hood kids. I consider this an Alternative Ivy League school. They honestly get the bottom of the barrel because some parents know their child will be sent to an alternative school if they were in a district. Test scores are horrible….. they sure know a way around inputting grades. Half of those kids can’t read but are passing with 70s or 80s if they come to school. This school is the definition of unorganized and will send messages as if it’s a reminder know darn well they just sent it out the first time. If there’s an issue don’t bother telling the principal she will make it seem like she’s on your side meanwhile popping that gum! It’s so unprofessional. Teachers are constantly yelling. It’s crazy they use people until they’re tired you can see it on their faces. Poor lady did morning duty then had afternoon duty and the majority of the time she was by herself. When I mentioned it to the principal she said we will see. Probably after two months the lady finally got some help afternoon duty they always had more than enough I guess they wanted those students gone. This location is finally closing and no my child will not be returning….. everything went downhill in the last year. Don’t send your child.

Excellent I love da school . Teacher are wonderful. My grandkids are student. My grandson started here now a junior in high school.
