Los Reyes Elementary School

Great school, great teachers, excellent music program & librarian. Horrible location and boundaries for kids to attend are silly. We bus our kid twice as far as the closest elementary.The school is overcrowded. Texas is an awful state to have kids in public school overall, but the elementary school does the best with what they have. The teachers are the heros here. God bless them for putting up with the environment and regulations they teach under.

We felt our child was unsafe. We enrolled our child in the farmhouse program in January 2022 and shortly withdrew him after about 4 weeks into the program. The issue that led us to withdraw from this school had to do with their inclement weather plan. The weather turned icy and hit below freezing yet the leader of the school (Jennifer McCarville) thought it was perfectly acceptable for the 3-5 yr olds to remain outside for the duration of the morning regardless of temps. The older children were brought inside but preschool remained %100 outdoors. She would not allow the children shelter because they had a mild case of Covid going around the school and she was unable to safely accommodate the class size inside, there were 37 children in the preschool class and their indoor space is just not set up to accommodate for inclement weather days. We thought it would be inhuman to send our child when we ourselves wouldn't be outside in those conditions so that led to us to the decision to remove our child.
