Our teacher this year is terribly inconsiderate and does not have our child best interest in mind.
Posted by a community member on 12/8/2025I know of 2 different instances where boys touched girls and it was ignored. One boy was excused for doing this because his parents were not supportive. The other boy was not punished because he was "special".

Posted by a parent on 6/12/2012I started attending South Hills Elementary as a third grader the year it opened. I have fond memories, and not so fond memories of the school then.
Posted by a community member on 6/1/2011I went here from 3rd-5th grade. I had a blast. When I arrived I was just the nerdy white kid but it ended up being the best few years of my life. The school's teachers all speak English and Spanish. They did some benchmarks there but it wasn't the main thing. And as for "Dumbing down the curriculum"

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is sadly not a happy,welcoming, warm place! The office staff is very dry, almost cold. You can walk in the office and they will all be sitting there and no one will speak or greet you. There’s no principal or staff motivation for the kids in the morning. No learning help from my kids pre k teacher! She has absolutely no personality, no friendliness, no sense of humor whatsoever! 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school I wanted my child to be in was full so I resorted to Alice D because I saw potential, worst mistake ever! The teachers are rude and always in a bad mood. They treat the kids terribly. My son was hit every day at school even after talking to the teacher and principal. I had a child give me the middle finger in the pick up line and nothing was ever done. Please do not bring your kids to this school.
