Read what parents are saying about Oakmont Elementary SchoolMy experience with this school for the past two years, is academically excellent. My daughter loved her teachers and friends at school. However, we are moving to another area of Crowley. I give the school 4 stars because I highly agree that the school does not know how to deal with bullying (experienced this with my grandchildren who came from out of state. Nor did the school do well with emotional support. None-the-less, teachers are there to teach and WITH parental support, bullying, emotional support, and academics will depend on home support. Raising a child and the success of your student STARTS AT HOME.
Posted by a parent on 7/18/2023Teachers scapegoating by getting children tested for diabilities instead of putting in the work to and being accountable for their classrooms environment. Teachers punishing the class as a whole instead of addressing issues with individual students. Poor communication on homework, upcoming tests and cirriculum. Teachers don't respond to emails when you have concerns about your child. Teachers don't respond to text messages when you raise concerns about your child. Teachers don't answer their desk phone or return voicemails. Office staff do not care about your concerns. School nurse and nurse assistants do not communicate potential concerns about your child's visits to the nurse office. Office staff and teachers do not commuinicate with each other about after school programs and often misplace or lose your children in the school. Office staff do not provice resources on how to address concerns and do not assist getting ahold of teachers. Even speaking to teachers directly in person, in the office with multiple other staff to witness they still will fail to follow their own processes. Zero support for children who actually do have disabilities. In my 4 years with multiple children attending the school only 2 out of 12 teachers were good, and 1 out of 8 office staff actually cared. School does not deal with bullying appropriately. The teachers that are good teachers are not given the power they need to act on bullying appropriately.
Posted by a parent on 2/26/2022The teachers are WONDERFUL but they simply don't not get support from leadership. Leadership has a very laid back approach towards everything and unfortunately with the class sizes this can't be allowed.
Posted by a parent on 10/31/2018Awful we moved in March just to get out of the district. It was the only way to protect my son. Then the lady in the front was rude about that. She thinks she is in charge and walks around as if she cant be bothered by anyone and she is so much better than everyone. But my sons teachers were amazing they loved him and helped him so so much.
Posted by a parent on 3/2/2018My daughter learned so much in her Kindergarten class. I look forward to seeing how she does this year for first grade. Her teacher was a great communicator and she was very nice.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been in this school since kindergarten currently now in 3rd grade. We had issues since the fist day we stared ,the teachers have no communication and no control of un behaved students. I was able to witness this situation during online class. Somehow the same un behave students keep been placed in the same class as my child. My child comes home & mentions the same names of this students always having behavioral issues, bullying & harassment to my child & other class mates. I have spoken to teachers , staff and principals, but nothing has changed! There has been points where my kid cries about assisting this school. I really tried giving this school a chance but there is always one thing or another. There is really rude staff they need more professionalism it seems like they hate the job! I don’t feel comfortable leaving my child around this type of adults I can not imagine how they treat our poor kids if they don’t know how to treat parents. As a parent I do not feel welcome there is no activity where parents are able to assist & come see kids participate or have communication with teachers we basically don’t know what really goes on inside this school ! I really do not recommend this school they need to have some changes done! I am currently looking for another school who has better education & communication. If you really care about your children take some time to find a good school! Woodway is not it!!Parent Review8mo ago - Sue Crouch Intermediate School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am disappointed with FWISD with the choice of staff that was hired to look after this school. The high expectations I had for this school was a disappointment due to this school being located in a quality area. Please beware of this school. If you have other options for your child for schooling please use your other options. This school has lots of bullies. The teachers are only in it for the paycheck and not for the students. My experience with the principal was very discouraging. There is no care for the students safety. My kid has had a very unpleasant year.Parent Review10mo ago - St Peter's Classical School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Peter’s has been the perfect school for our family. Our daughter, who was described as “challenging” by her daycare, absolutely flourished in kindergarten at SPCS! It provided the structure and intellectual stimulation she needed. During COVID years the school was reliably open and consistent (while giving a virtual option to families that chose it) and we are so grateful her education was not affected! The school truly made the right decisions in an unprecedented situation. My younger child also now attends pre-K at SPCS. He has developmental delays and special needs, and the school has been wonderfully accommodating and supportive. The administration and teachers have worked with my son’s therapists (physical therapy, speech therapy, you name it, he’s getting special services!) without any issue. While at daycare he was placed with 2-year-olds for multiple years; at SPCS he is thriving amongst his peers! In just 2 months he has learned to count to 10 (not just reciting but understanding what counting means), can sing the ABCs, and can write one letter of the alphabet and recognize several! When he has any issues that require me, the teacher texts me and I pop into school to assist and then slip back out. While the school may not be able to accommodate every child’s situation I can attest they absolutely partner with you to support your child if they can. My husband went to a larger, well-known, and more expensive private school in the area K-12 and he is the one that chose SPCS for our children. He is consistently impressed with the curriculum(Latin especially) and positive environment this school offers. I went to public school and am so impressed that my daughter doesn’t just memorize the information for the tests the way I did in grade school; the school is helping her learn to think critically and process new information. I recognize these capabilities as what I truly needed for my career, and am thrilled that it is the foundation of her education. I hope my children can graduate from SPCS after seeing several years of well-rounded, artistically AND academically gifted, and impressively kind teenagers as SPCS graduates.Parent Review5mo ago
