North Forney High School

I’m a freshman taking a Spanish 1 class. Everyday we learn something new, everyone is engaged and our teacher, Ms.Marcelino is very caring. She cares about our education and building a healthy student/teacher friendship. I always feel respected in this classroom. I also enjoy having Mr. Simolaridos (I think that’s how I spell it) he is also a very caring teacher. Whenever something is wrong you can usually count on him to fix it. He also provides school appropriate sweaters for when students are cold, and pads/tampons for if anyone has an unexpected cycle pop up. He is very thoughtful and his teaching techniques are very affective.

Worked there for 2 years. The place was a zoo. Kids coming into class whenever they want, leaving class early, permanently on their phones with zero fear of admin doing anything about it. Tons of kids who fail just take quickie "credit recovery" classes online which are a total joke. Fights were common and if you pointed any negative things out you were quickly labelled a troublemaker. If you are not in the right teacher clique you are just tolerated by everyone else. Admin would almost always side with parent guardian no matter how ridiculous the situation. A scary place for sure.

This school will stress your child out. Ran like a prison. Very hostile learning environment.

School sucks. The dress code is outrageous.

My wife's and my experience starting in 2017 has been GOOD. Love the commitment from the teachers and the administration. FISD is growing rapidly and yes there are growing pains, but they are handling it. Parents need to do their part and be a part of the solutions and not just spew their grievances out. Join the PTO, be a volunteer.
