Loma Terrace Elementary School

I went to this school and I'm very disappointed the gym and micro society building where under construction all year! The floors where rarely cleaned and the girls restroom at some point didn't have any paper towels for weeks! And that is barely everything wrong with this school I wouldn't recommend coming here.

This is my daughter's 2nd year at Rainbow School and my son's first. The teachers are amazing, they are caring, they are loving and genuinely love what they do. My kids are learning so much, I love how involved everyone is, the communication is great, I truly love seeing my kids be happy going to school. The first years of their education will set the tone for the rest of their learning journey and Rainbow School is setting them up for success. Thank you to Ms. Krystal, Ms. Lucy, Ms. Risario and Ms. Yolie you are all truly a blessing to have in my children's lives. My kids feel so happy and safe going to Rainbow School.

The staff here is amazing. My kids are learning so much and are genuinely excited to go to school every day. The teachers are firm in the best way and hold the kids accountable while helping them grow into respectful, responsible students. I really appreciate how they teach a strong work ethic and independence, along with academics.

This review come from the perspective of a teacher for 20+ years.Things that can improve: restroom rules, physical education, games during school hours and the lunch program.* Restroom rules- for the most part restrooms can only be used at designated times. If you need to use the RR at other times teachers will discourage it and make students feel like it is a bad thing.* P.E.- Physical education seems to be more of a "free period". Sometimes children just play and mess around indoors/outdoors. Sometimes they play semi-coordinated games and other days are for catching up on missed assignments. (I believe these are all good things just something to keep in mind as a parent)* Sports games during school- Students must pay $5 +/- or more to attend a game during school hours, otherwise you go to a room that feels like detention. Also the concession food is over priced.* Lunch program- The food is awful and the set up of children and interaction could be better. Also the menu is very deceiving, the wording and set up of menu seems like gourmet but it is the opposite.We've appreciated the relationships we've built with the school and community. Teachers and staff care about the children's overall well being. Relationships- All the staff is amazing. Never felt judged for issues that arose with grades or with tardies/absences. On the contrary, we were listened and felt understood. My student built wonderful friendships and enjoys going to school.Security- Campus is always closed. There is a camera with buzzer before allowed on premises. Minimum 1 officer present at all times.Education begins in the home and school is a tool.
