Read what parents are saying about Loma Terrace Elementary SchoolStaff is very rude and they do discriminate. They take it out on your kids if you point out something wrong.
Posted by a parent on 7/21/2023My son went to this school from kinder to 3rd and it was horrible. I put him in this school because it was my elementary as a kid and I really loved it but the school now is really horrible. The staff in the front would stop my son and not let him get to class and made him late on purpose. Their excuse was he was going to be late anyways which was a lie he would have over 5 minutes before the bell rang. They did this so many times. They would stop certain students in the front and give them tardy slips while letting others get to class. My son was also bullied very badly at this school and nothing was ever done. He would come home from kinder with glue in his hair and marker all over his clothes. I talked to the teachers, the vice principle, the principal and even went as high up as yisd headquarters but nothing was ever done. What made it worse is they were trying to get him kicked out because he was not performing well on exams, they interrogated him on one occasion trying to ask him if he lived within district line, mind you at the time we lived 5 blocks from the school. The attendance lady in the front is really horrible, any time I needed to call in because my son was sick they would not count it as excused. I had to physically go with a doctor's note and make sure it was excused. I did hear from a teacher at this time that students who may need extra help are pushed out of the schools with certain tactics so the school with perform well on paper which is disgusting to me. We moved him schools after Yisd headquarters did nothing about the bullying. He is now in a much better school and is doing really well, he has not had any issues at this other school. As soon as he moved his grades shot up and his reading level went from a second grade level to 5th grade level. This has to be the worst school EVER!!!
Posted by a parent on 10/13/2016This school has a ton of potential to be great academically and for it's athletic programs as well. It is not the case however due to the principal. She looks for every little thing to get the kids in trouble and to write out another referral rather than focusing on improving their test scores and grades. She also looks to get rid of programs which she can use as incentive for kids to raise their grades such as flags and basketball. I love the school as I am an alumni myself but the principal has got to go. Arrogance and Ignorance are not traits I look for in my principal and you will find both in her. Just time for her to go before she destroys the confidence and moral of more students.
Posted by a parent on 3/23/2016Horrible principal, mainly illiterate, no good for school. She is very disrespectful, and thinks she knows what she's talking about.
Posted by a parent on 3/14/2016You'll know this school is terrible the minute you walk in! It slaps in the face!

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI too have children at North Loop Elementary and I am very happy there. My kids live in another school district but refuse to leave since they have been here. I have never had any problems with teachers or the administration. If I do have an issue, the principal and teachers have been there to hear me out and help me resolve my issues. I don't understand the breakfast concern, if there is not enough breakfast, feed them at home like I do, and as to the water fountain issue, I called to find out about the water fountains outside because I too was told from my children about the fountains and I was informed that they were being repaired. Knowledge is everything, so I say to unhappy parents, call and get informed before you go out and bad mouth an excellent school. After all you get Recognized status from a principal and staff that don't care about children, to the contrary, you get happy children who want to go to school.Parent Review12y ago - Pasodale Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this school and I'm very disappointed the gym and micro society building where under construction all year! The floors where rarely cleaned and the girls restroom at some point didn't have any paper towels for weeks! And that is barely everything wrong with this school I wouldn't recommend coming here.Parent Review1y ago - Rainbow School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my daughter's 2nd year at Rainbow School and my son's first. The teachers are amazing, they are caring, they are loving and genuinely love what they do. My kids are learning so much, I love how involved everyone is, the communication is great, I truly love seeing my kids be happy going to school. The first years of their education will set the tone for the rest of their learning journey and Rainbow School is setting them up for success. Thank you to Ms. Krystal, Ms. Lucy, Ms. Risario and Ms. Yolie you are all truly a blessing to have in my children's lives. My kids feel so happy and safe going to Rainbow School.Parent Review7mo ago - North Loop Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhy is it that students are either perfect at this school, or the problem at this school? When a teacher berates a student in front of others, does this not harm our children. What does it teach those that witness such behavior? When is it acceptable to harm others with our words? Should not an adult know better than to chastise out young, to humiliate them in public? Start by making teachers more accountable. Patience is a virtue after all. Students need to be nurtured, all students, not just those with ties to faculty and staff. How can you have favoritism in a private Christian school setting be an allowed practice, if we are all the same in the eyes of our Lord? Don't put the blame all on the students, when the teachers don't know how to interact properly with students. If a child falls short, is ostracizing a child truly the way Jesus would handle a similar situation? And if in your teachings, one way does not work with some, find out the way that does. Recognize that our children are to be learning in school, yes! Yet, recognize that your parents have also asked this school to treat their children with the dignity and respect all Christians deserve.Parent Review10y ago - New Horizons Home School Academy
