Posted by a community member on 9/14/2016My experience has been great . Teachers have experience here and they care for my son very much.
Posted by a community member on 8/20/2015Don't even entertain the idea of sending your child to this school if you care about their education, safety, and have expectations for school communication. If you're military or a single working parent save yourself the frustration and anger. 3.5 months of school and I've had about 6 issues. To include my child being missing for 2 hrs. I was told by the principal she would look into it and call me back. Then the school closed and everyone went home for the day with no follow up (and they shut the phones off at about 430 so you can't get through or if you child is stuck at school they can't call out.)
Posted by a parent on 11/14/2014I would not recommend this school. I have had to transfer my children to a school that I feel will better educate my children. There has been constant theft, violence and drugs. My children were distracted so much by these issues it took the focus off education and they were more concerned about things going on around them than on school. There are also a lack of electives. The staff, assistant principal and principal are more concerned with " "policies" rather than students best interests.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is amazing! From the moment you walk in the front door & are treated with respect & a genuine desire to help, to walking out the back door at the end of the day.Administration is amazing & the teachers truly care! I love the new safety upgrades they have made & the fact that they enforce them ALL the time.Parent volunteers are amazing, the special things they do for the community is wonderful. The school is always looking for more volunteers!Any student struggling is offered many opportunities to succeed. If they simply are not understanding with one teacher, there is an entire secondary team willing to step in. They offer after school tutoring, Saturday school as well as teachers are willing to come in early &/or give up their lunch period to help a student. There is a ZERO tolerance for Bullying! Students are encouraged to reach out to the counselor for any reason.Parent Review11mo ago - Glen Cove Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son had a wonderful, supportive and loving teacher at this school. The principal was approachable and responsive. I never worried about my son's safety, happiness, or educational experience while he attended Tierra. He loved coming home with library books, stories to tell me about his day, and he loved the daily PE and science classes. I found the administration to be friendly, interested and helpful. We moved out of state but if we had not, I would have kept my son at Tierra.Parent Review7y ago - Robbin E L Washington Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average2/10 thank god my kids only go here for pre-k. The school is so disorganized & seems to be lacking adequate staff. All the events I’ve attended in the past two years have been held late, I arrive on time & have to wait at least half an hour on the staff running around trying to get it together. It is very overcrowded & parking is a nightmare.Parent Review5y ago - Elfida Chavez Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNeeded to leave a review. We REALLY love the Principal, Teachers, and staff. The team at this school has done an absolute amazing job. Our kiddos have progressed amazingly and love this elementary school. Lots of school activities we felt very much apart of the school community with all the events. I would encourage anyone to attend the school.Parent Review9mo ago
