7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Assistant principal there dose nothing about the bullying going on in school. He always finds an excuse or finds something wrong with your child. When I complain about what was going on with my son getting bullied he said that was last year's news. I was like no it's last semester and it still keeps going on you haven't donde nothing to fix it. I'm just going straight to the sisd districtParent Review2mo ago4 Reviews - Myrtle Cooper Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very extreme. Either very good or very bad but more often than not I’ve experienced staff with extremely bad attitudes. Mean. Frankly I’m tired of it. There’s a way to talk to people and that way is not it. My child has sensitivity issues and tends to be late more often than not (we’re working on it and slowly improving) but has never missed school without a valid reason. They haven’t said anything about the tardies really though they do know we have a struggle. My child missed school because of pink eye. I sent up the excuse note and got it excused. THEN I GET A CALL ABOUT HER ATTENDANCE BECAUSE SHE MISSED SCHOOL FOR HAVING PINK EYE. we started to get in a routine where we were pretty much on time most of the time, and today we were. I pulled in a parking spot, got out, opened the back door and was trying to get my daughter, who of course is not cooperating, and maybe 15sec after opening the door, the parking lot lady comes up with an attitude yelling “hey hurry up” gestures to a car that just pulled up trying to get in the parking spot, taking her hands gesturing dramatically, while aggressively shooting daggers at me with her eyes. Like? You think that’s appropriate? Lady I’m not the one to be disrespectful to. I’m not purposefully taking 15 seconds but if it’s that big of deal instead of being a jerk why don’t you come help. It’s 15sec. I understand that car is in a hurry SO AM I. The one thing I will say is that the front desk lady and the principle are quite fantastic and I really appreciate them. they’re quite wonderful people. There was another time I dropped my child off a little bit late, and I dropped her off at the front of the school, while watching her walk in (it was maybe 10ft) another mother did the same thing with a kid the same age. Someone covering the front desk has my child sit there, then comes out and only yells at me for not walking her completely inside. Right after another child went in and nothing was said. A lot of the staff need a class on manners and approach. They need to learn just because they are staff doesn’t mean they get to treat parents and may be kids, who knows, like they’re stupid. Demeaning a parent for little things that they allow others to do is ridiculous. When im approached like that, im cop an attitude right back. Then it’ll be made that the parents are the problem.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Lujan-Chavez Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy granddaughter attends this school and loves it. The teachers seem genuinely caring towards the students and the special days/activities the school has keeps things interesting. The homework load for our 3rd grader doesn't seem overwhelming like some have mentioned. I am happy to see that they actually have spelling words to learn and practice their cursive writing...our previous schools in Killeen did not. I'm not sure why they do not provide bus pickup/drop-off for kids living more than a mile away...I am sure this is a district issue though, not school controlled. The pick up lines for car riders is well organized yet still horrid but I'm not sure how it could be improved upon either.Parent Review2y ago12 Reviews - Loma Verde

Even during COVID, the teachers were great and did what they could to help the students be more comfortable and not be stuck to a computer for 8 hours.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - John Drugan School
