Read what parents are saying about Capt D Salinas Ii Elementary SchoolI can't wait to get my child out of this school! They put her in another parents vehicle they keep changing her teacher. As for me and my child's first experience because my child is in pre-k , I think they have ruined it. They always ask for money. When we go to functions nothing is organized or they don't have a place for us to sit and my child has fallen due to the teacher walking so fast. The principal actually said to me that she wasn't going to baby anyone and if I didn't like it then to take my child out of school. Who would say that if they are the ones running the school. Extremely disappointed
Posted by a parent on 5/11/2015Very unsatisfied with this school my daughter is going to third grade and has a reading level of 1st grade!!! THEY NEVER BOTHERED UNTIL I GO TO "OPEN HOUSE" EVENT AND TALK TO HER TEACHER!!! DONNA ISD is not updated with electronic devices for students, online registration, or dress code/school supplies list on their website! FEEL SORRY FOR THE GOOD TEACHERS IN THIS DISTRICT..
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2013You provide a good education but what about saftey, if a parent has a concern or complaint for that matter about their childs security then theres something wrong , you say you provide a good a education so you say , and the staff and teachers are good, well some teachers are good , not all ...and the office staff are disrespectful and judgemental towards some parents from what ive seen, and doesnt mostly all schools teach english and spanish also to their students , I agree not such a good school, A schools first and main priority should be the safety and education for their students, and if a parent has a concern or complaint about their childs safety especialy a disabled child then its not such a good school.
Posted by a parent on 4/16/2012What kind of school denies a parent to walk their 5 year old disabled child to their class, denies a parent the security of their child making it to their class by themself knowing the disability of the child, mentally disabled child with mental problems especialy need extra watching not knowing of their capability of doing harm or gettin harmed by themselfs or some one else , im a mother of a disabled child and if you cant provide a parent the security of their mentally disabled child then can I say your school isnt as good as you try to make it seem and the least u could do is give the parent the security of making sure their disabled child makes it to class.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are finally leaving this school and moving on to better and greater things. My oldest went all the way to 4th grade at this school and she had three different principals which was a downfall to everyone, in my opinion. The teachers lack communication. The teachers attendance was worse than the children. The parent-involvement group was a joke and had favorite moms. Lacking motivation. A few good teachers. Not much fundraising for the children. If you are a parent who is on top of their children and have a hard working-focused child then you will do great. Discipline is a joke! Counselor has horrible people skills and took 8 months to get paperwork processed. Librarian is great!!Parent Review9y ago - M Rivas Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent of a autistic child , when I registered my child here I knew right off that the special ed teacher knew nothing about austism. Needless to say that the principal or the homeroom teacher was no help either!! However if your child does not require any additional help as far as special ed . Then maybe this is the school for you. I have never been treated so badly before at a school the primcipal seemed to have a personal relationship with many of the children all except mine. Which lead me to believe either she was prejudice because of my sons disorder or because his skin was slightly darker .Parent Review12y ago - Zeferino Farias Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been bullied in this school several times this year! the principal is NOT on top of things at all. My daughter feels threatened to go to class and feels there is nothing that can be done about it. Which is true since all the bullies get is a "talk". There should be more parents involved and the school should implement that as well. I have spoken to the principal several times and all she says is "its kid stuff" and that my daughter over reacts! I really hope that the district gets more involved at this elementary. I hate having to come home from work just to see my daughter cry and ask me to change her schools. We all need to be involved in our childrens lives and increase communication. Our CHILDREN should not be afraid to go to class because they think they are going to get beat up!!Parent Review12y ago - Valley Christian Heritage School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLove this school. It has great foundation and great discipline procedures. My kids have been enrolled since Pre-K 3 and are now in 5th and 3rd grade. As a teacher, it is worth it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.Parent Review6y ago - IDEA Academy Alamo
