terrible school all around they only care about money

When my child attended the teachers at this facility were great. My child enjoyed attending however there is a huge lack of communication when it comes to them keeping you updated on things. Important things are NEVER relayed unless by chance you happen to see the teacher and ask. The director does not allow teachers and parents to communicate she likes everything to go through her which is a bit weird to me. The director is also never 100% truthful when asked

I would be wary of interviewing here or accepting job offers from this district. I suppose this might be a decent option if you have nothing else to compare it to, but everyone that has left here has been happier after leaving.First of all, this district is very low-budget and does not have the resources to properly support teachers. The students here perform much lower than their counterparts in surrounding districts. The students are not challenged academically and do not grow. The pay is embarrassingly low compared to surrounding districts; for both teacher and admin pay. Curriculum and support is minimal, and the curriculum staff is just made up of the people who upper admin liked working with the most. Some of them are fine at their jobs, but others only got those jobs because they’re friends with upper admin.The staff cliques are a huge problem in this district. Even if someone is an ineffective leader, you will be seen negatively if you’re not one of their little favorites. The favorites get whatever they ask for and everyone else is expected to figure it out. Staff turnover here is crazy, but if you’re thinking that could lead to opportunities, I would think twice. Three people I know have interviewed with this district for a specific role, only to be offered something else. They will bait and switch you to get you to agree to take on a role that’s difficult for them to fill. And if you’re thinking of sending your kids to the high school? This district already had the high school close once - it could happen again. I wouldn’t be surprised if this district got shut down by TEA in a few years. Over all, this district relies on favoritism/nepotism, not addressing root causes of problems, and not valuing staff. Unless this is the absolute last resort and you are desperate for a job, I’d look for jobs elsewhere. I will say, the students are absolutely wonderful here. I feel bad for them since they’d be learning more if they went to a different school that had better teachers/staff.
