Thurgood Marshall Elementary School

Based on a primary example, I should be giving the school one star but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because they have so many great, positive qualities. The family engagement is high and the involvement can be seen everywhere. There are so many traditions and customs which unite the school. However the experience of having your child put in a closet as detention for not understanding their work and finishing it alone while their classmates go outside for recess is despicable. Not only was I her parent, but a loyal teacher/staff member. For this reason, I left and would suggest that teachers receive background checks, but more importantly, supervision. Although there are several amazing teachers, it takes only one bad apple. This will forever scar my daughter.

Clean classrooms. Clean Restrooms. Awesome playground. Cool cafeteria.

Horrible. The teachers barely do their job, and there's not actual learning! They let students talk in a not great manner and poor safety system. They let students go inside and outside the building with the teachers id which is very dangerous because the student most of the time goes ALONE! and the social emotional support is poor as well. When a student is struggling mentally the teacher tells them to get over it and it's not that serious,durning panic or anxiety attacks they don't help at all! Overall, don't send your children here.

We have PreK-4 son his teacher is Ms.Wallace. I just want to thank for Ms.Wallace and Ms. Emelia They are very amazing teachers.Thank you for your hard work in supporting our son as he develop. Your patience and commitment to support our child has mean a lot to our family.We are well aware of the effort you put into our child in your class. Thank you for going above and beyond for our son and being such a caring and important part in our sons development.Teachers require so many positive qualities like care, compassion, patience and commitment. You have all these qualities. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
