My child attended here two years, and he would have only attended for one if it hadn't been for COVID. One of the worst schools my child has ever attended. He was bullied by teachers - including his special education teacher - we could never get responses from the administration to issues we were having, he was locked out of class by a teacher who then lied about it at a later date. He was bullied by students, a teacher continuously marked him absent from a class he wasn't even scheduled to attend and after multiple assurances from the school that the problem was fixed, I received a truancy notice which the school did not rectify until the week of my scheduled truancy hearing (over 6 months after I received the notice). As soon as the children returned from COVID, we removed him from this school and transferred him elsewhere. The concept is fabulous, but it is not executed properly, Do NOT send your children here.

I would like to say that this middle school sucks. I went to this school and was one of the founding students. When they came to us in middle school saying that they had all this ideas and programs and opportunities they had for us were lies. They didn’t meet up to the expectations of what they said they were going to provide. My brother now goes there and he can’t even take a language class because they don’t provide it anymore. My brother excelled in his classes and grades but now he is barely even passing because of the “teaching” methods they use. He also gets bored really easily. They also do harsh and unnecessary punishments when it comes to the students. Also, the teachers and staff do not come to an understanding when it comes to the students health and grades. My brother hates that school and so do I and I don’t go there anymore. Hearing my brother complain about this school makes me feel bad for him because each and every year the school gets worse. I highly do not recommend this school.

This school has an attractive concept and vision but the execution is not good at all. Our child was excited to attend Ignite because of the PL Prep concept and the principal and teachers were impressive during the tour. They refer to all the students as 'scholars' and tout their focus on individualized learning. What we experienced was a disaster. Bad student behavior goes completely unchecked. Bullying is rampant and the language used by students, openly in front of teachers, is utterly atrocious. My child was consistently bullied by groups of kids to the point where we had to file a report. My child's test scores suffered. The first time we brought it to the attention of the vice principal, we did not get a response for weeks. I followed up and again no response until I copied the principal. Then, like magic, I get a response immediately. To their credit, they put together an anti-bullying plan which worked for a while but it eventually broke down and my child just had to endure through the end of the school year. My child's only solace were the couple of excellent teachers who would keep a look out, but all the best teachers ended up leaving the school. I'm not surprised. We moved our child to a new school this year where my child is getting along well with our students and test scores are back up.It's a shame about Ignite because they have a good concept. However, they are not able to execute it and they have lost all control of student behavior. They don't even try anymore. The school environment is way too chaotic to facilitate a positive learning experience.
