Read what parents are saying about A & M Cons High SchoolThese scores are ridiculous. A&M Consolidated is one of the top schools in the state and listed among American's best high schools. Top test scores, AP opportunities, and rigourous coursework. Extracurricular opportunities are through the roof. College Station high schools are amazing.
Posted by a parent on 2/20/2023AMCHS teachers really care about their students and it shows. They work well with each other and continually improve the rigor. My son and daughter both recently graduated from AMCHS and were well prepared for College. So glad they went to school here!
Posted by a parent on 1/21/2018A&M Consolidated has been an absolutely wonderful experience for my children and for me and my husband. I have a senior and a sophomore currently enrolled at AMCHS, and I cannot say enough positive comments about the staff members and the programs that my students have experienced. They are both involved in multiple sports and extra-curricular activities, and they are also enrolled in many Pre-AP, AP, and Honors classes. Their teachers and coaches are unbelievably supportive and helpful. They also have access to a multitude of career and technology and fine arts classes that have given them experience in real-life skills. The high expectations of the principal and administrative staff allow for the students to enjoy a spirited but safe environment. If I could give six stars, or ten, I would!
Posted by a parent on 9/17/2014We moved our daughter here in the middle or her Junior year. The school, teachers, and counselors have been great. She graduates this year. We have been pleased with the transition.
Posted by a parent on 4/17/2014Honestly, I absolutely hated going to Consol. There's obviously a lot of under-the-table-type deals going on, because half of the kids in AP and Honors classes really don't deserve to be there. There are, unfortunately, very few teachers that are actually actively invested in what their students learn. For the most part, most of the teachers seem like they aren't satisfied with their jobs. There isn't a lot of true learning going on; it's more like memorization. Also, the sports programs are obviously valued over the fine arts; upgrades are made to the football program every year, whereas many of the art teachers had to pay out of pocket for us to have usable supplies. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here if you have the choice.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThrilled with 1st & 2nd grade! My daughter began first grade here. She went to Preschool and Kindergarten in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg with all instruction in Luxembourgish. Before that she did preschool in Santa Barbara with English instruction. Because of the differences in academics, I was afraid my daughter would have a had time adjusting. Beginning 1st grade, my daughter did not read (they begin reading in 1st grade in Luxembourg - in German) but by the end of year she was reading third grade level! Miss O'Connor is PHENOMENAL!! She was patient and gave progressively challenging material throughout the year. It worked! My daughter is in 2nd grade now, currently reading the final Harry Potter book. She is in the Chess Club, a component of the Gifted and Talented Program (G/T) that also offers a Math Enrichment one day a week, along with other activities to supplement learning for those in the G/T Program. Her teacher this year, Mrs. Welch, is AMAZING with the kids! A group in the class reads beyond their current grade level, so she has given this group advanced chapter books to keep them challenged. We're moving to Dallas next year. We will miss these OUTSTANDING teachers.Parent Review10y ago - Southwood Valley Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSWV is amazing! This is the 4th year my kids have been in this school. They love it so much. The administration is amazing and very supportive. If we ever have any issues we can go to them and they listen and help in any way they can. The teachers that my children have had genuinely love them as if they are their own. I have 3 kids at this school and there is nothing negative that I can say. I feel safe with my kids here and I feel like they are getting a great education. The negative reviews on here are all from before the current principal was hired. Mrs. Deluna is great. I highly recommend this school if you live in the Southwood Valley district. It is a Title 1 school but that does not inherently make it a bad school. The administration is what makes or breaks any organization and SWV has the best administration and teachers that I've found at any school. I'm so glad my kids go here!Parent Review7mo ago - Rock Prairie Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe director and after school teachers were great but my child's preschool teacher was a nightmare. Communication skills were terrible and didn't want to deal with some of the parents. We pulled our child out early because our child was not learning anything nor do they teach any of the basics that is needed to prep students for kindergarten. Just a waste of money.Other Review6y ago - Aggieland Country School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll four of my children attended here through Kinder, and they were far ahead of their peers when we moved to public school. The classrooms and campus are lovely. It's a hidden gem near central CS. It's a true Montessori school with AMI and AMA trained staff, none of the "online" certifications, and it really shows in their relationship with the students and learning.Parent Review5y ago - River Bend Elementary School
