This is the first year my kids have gone to the school. My daughter is in kindergarten and my son is in third grade. never have I ever been to a school that is so disorganized and some of the teachers are rude. The front office doesn’t ever know anything happening in the classrooms or know about a situation. My daughter got hurt before and I never got a call from the office when she got hurt on the head. Despite my daughter getting hurt, they are bad at communication. My kids are never going to the school ever again worst school ever. I only took them because we live across the street at the apartments. I would give zero stars to this school, but I had to at least give one in order to write the review.I would never recommend this school to anyone!

As a parent, I cannot recommend Purple Sage based on our experience.We came into Purple Sage new to the district after my child had already experienced a traumatic situation earlier in the year. We were hoping for compassion, patience, and support during a difficult transition. Instead, we encountered an environment that left my child feeling defeated.Throughout the year, my child received multiple write-ups, often for behaviors that I felt should have been met with understanding, guidance, and appropriate support instead of repeated punishment. My child came home believing they were a "bad kid" and even told me they had been told that if they didn't improve, they would end up going to a "bad school." I also felt pressured to pursue an ADHD evaluation rather than having meaningful conversations about the impact that trauma, grief, anxiety, and major life changes can have on a child's behavior. I never felt those factors were given the consideration they deserved.The principal and assistant principal were dismissive of my concerns and showed very little empathy. Rather than partnering with our family to support my child's success, I often left conversations feeling like my child was viewed as a problem to be managed instead of a child who deserved compassion, patience, and support.One incident that I will never forget was my child being placed alone in a room with the lights off and the door closed during lunch detention. Regardless of the intent, that is not an appropriate way to treat a child who is already struggling emotionally.After just one school year, I made the decision to transfer my child to another school for next year. As a parent, I don't make a decision like that lightly, but I no longer felt this was an environment where my child could thrive emotionally or academically.I hope this review encourages reflection and meaningful change because every child deserves to feel safe, understood, respected, and valued at school.Unfortunately, that was not our experience at Purple Sage.

Our experience with Summit Christian Academy was deeply disappointing and, unfortunately, harmful to our child’s well-being. We enrolled our children with the hope of providing them a strong academic foundation grounded in Christian values such as compassion, grace, and support. Sadly, those values were not reflected in the school’s actions, but specifically as it related to the current Headmaster in charge. Prior to his arrival, we did not have this same experience, but unfortunately his actions were the main reason we decided to remove our child from an environment led by this individual. Over the most recent year at the school, our child faced ongoing challenges that were met not with understanding or support, but with dismissal, targeting and, at times, a lack of empathy from staff and leadership. Rather than working with us as partners to support our child’s development, the administration often took a rigid and judgmental approach that left our child feeling isolated, unheard, and emotionally distressed. We expected a nurturing environment where Christian principles were more than just words on paper, but instead lived out through kindness, patience, and humility. Instead, we witnessed a culture where certain students were favored, and others—especially my son who struggled—was marginalized, labeled and ultimately attacked. This was not the Christ-like guidance we were promised.Our child’s confidence and mental health were negatively impacted during their time at Summit Christian Academy. We eventually made the decision to withdraw him for his own emotional and spiritual well-being. While no school is perfect, it’s crucial that institutions claiming to provide Christian education actually reflect those teachings in their daily practices and interactions.We hope this review encourages thoughtful reflection and change within the school, so that no other child has to go through a similar experience.

I started off as a parent over 18 years ago (have 2 graduates and one entering high school) and loved it so much I decided to join the staff over 15 years ago! This school offers great academics (even on level courses are high level- vs. AP classes). This school does a great job at supporting and growing students academically and intentional character building across campus and all grade levels. In lower school, they build foundations and memorize. In middle school, they start to think logically and by high school they are able to have deeper conversations in subjects. The relationships and activities across grade levels are intentional (as all students are on one campus). The academics are strong. The electives and sports are small enough where there is more equal opportunity. Our school wide events and grade level events have stood the test of time (they still have the time-honored 'Camp Watermelon' from when my oldest 1st grade to when my youngest over 12 years ago). This speaks to tradition and investing in children.
