Mound Elementary School

I only put neutral because I have no experience with the special education program of Taylor elementary and I don’t want to diminish anyone else’s experience. But I want to let parents know that my daughter is thriving here. Mrs P, and her paras are a gem. My anxiety has pretty much all but left. My daughter is in prek, communication is amazing. She’s picking up emotional regulation skills from her teachers as well. As a parent who was dreading school, she’s loving it! So I’m loving it!

Wow! What an incredible school. My son is in Kindergarten here and every single person we've encountered - from teachers, to counselors, to the nurse the principal, the front office, and education aides - has been truly committed to supporting the children. The older children smile and wave when they walk past the grown ups. It is a magical place, both in terms of the physical space and the overall vibe. They really are living their values and the kids here are fortunate to learn and grow in an environment that appreciates SEL as much as academic progress (and understands they are two sides of the same coin). We couldn't be happier or more grateful about our decision to send our son here.

They make data-driven decisions without losing sight of the human side of teaching. Their lessons are well-structured, engaging, and inclusive. It's clear that they go above and beyond—both in and out of the classroom—to ensure their students thrive.Parents appreciate the open communication and transparency, and students benefit from a structured yet nurturing environment. Holy Cross has been amazing for both my kids. One struggled with reading and stayed back to help build her up, she is now thriving because of that decision. No one makes her feel bad because she repeated a grade and she is loved on. With being older comes more wordly things, but our upper school teachers and administrators do an amazing job at keeping us notified of topics arising and leading the students to Christ and their parents. Now with a high school growing, we will happily continue through 12th grade!
