Gracias escuela Gallegos

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a formal student that went to that school I have no doubts how well the teachers teach me I still us the skills that they taught me in high-school. They have the most amazing student spirit there is no bullying. I recommend the school for parents who want there child or children to get a amazing education. One thing is if you get overwhelmed with the home work it teaches you how to be on top of it which is very useful for high-school. 10/10 schoolParent Review2y ago - Faith Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAside from having an excellent and safe environment for children to develop and study, students consistently rate above national average in SAT scores, which is a tremendous achievement since they are not coached or prepared during school year for this test. Bible classes strengthen children moral values, regardless of being Christian, Catholic, etc. and at FCA this is the core of the education. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI thought with this being a 9/10 school it would be great. There are pros and cons with this school. 1) All students are bunched up together regardless of ability. I'm not sure why they force kids to be GT, I was never given a solid answer why my son was placed in a GT (he was never in GT before) class when he was struggling. They stress both the parent and child out trying to get kids up to par when they shouldn't even be on that level. They (3rd grade teacher and Asst Principal) suggested my son had ADHD, etc. Funny stuff actually as I diagnosed the teacher has having OCD.My only conclusion was that this was either an experiment to see if all leveled kids can become GT if given the opportunity (sort of a "you are all smart" experiment) OR there was some type of incentive with either after-school turoting bonus (those who struggle will obviously need help). Either way, took my child out of that class and he soared to Honor Roll in a regular class. On a different note, when trying to withdraw my Kinder child (Kinder being optional in the stae of Texas) we were told (somewhat harassed) that they need to remain in school, yadda yadda, by the Principal. She even went so far to state it was the law. Unless a new mandatory Kinder law just passed we corrected her and she quickly changed tones and just let us withdraw our child. Could it be our child was just a $$ being lost upon withdrawal that the Principal cared about? On a positive note, the school does its best to encourage kids to remain in school, and if they get sick they should attend either way to get some awesome prizes for perfect attendance. The lines to wait/pickup are impersonal as any other newer schools in Brownsville. You line up to drop/pick up in your car. No teacher communication unless you stay at home all day and have the time to visit the teachers during working hours. Email is optional as well.Overall, its a public school, they do try hard to cheerlead both the parents and children to have great attendance/scores. STAAR testing is priority and it shows as in any other public school. I recommend it if you are ready to be HEAVILY involved.Parent Review7y ago - Jubilee Leadership Academy
