Posted by a student on 2/18/2018I used to go to Lanier earlier in the year for like 5 months and honestly after starting homeschool for the first time this year, I'd rather go back to Lanier, it was great there and some of the students, teachers, and counselors were nice. Even though there was one rude teacher. Overall at Lanier I had a great experience especially in the choir part and next year I'm going back. c:
Posted by a student on 12/15/2014I graduated from Lanier in 2013. While I enjoyed extracurricular activities at this school, the education I received was sub par in comparison to other high schools in Austin. A student could excel academically at Lanier and get automatic acceptance to a University in Texas because of the top 10% rule and find themselves unprepared for the rigor of university classes. It happens far too often. Lanier needs to do a better job of preparing students for the future, instead of making sure they pass the standardized tests. On another note, teachers are deeply invested in their students' lives and care about their success. But there are many young teachers who are hired and leave Lanier once they grow as educators. As for the students, there are students who don't care, students who come from broken homes and shaky backgrounds. They are mainly minorities from lower income families. While nothing is defined by race, there is a negative connotation placed on Lanier because of the attendees. Basically, this school needs to be fixed. Replacing some of the administration would be a great starting point.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is currently in her 4th year at Cedars, having started kindergarten during the pandemic. The school handled that difficult time and the transition back to school very well. My daughter thrives here with the smaller classroom sizes and has enjoyed all of her teachers this far. Definitely tour this facility!Parent Review6mo ago - Barrington Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff at this school work very hard to make learning interesting and fun for the students. Every teacher I have encountered at Wooten has a passion for teaching young children. The school still does tend to put too much emphasis on the state tests--as most schools do. My children love this school!Parent Review6y ago - Guerrero Thompson

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall I feel that teachers need more experience/help or need less children in classrooms. I dislike the way teachers use students to help in the mornings during student drop off while they (the teachers) are on their cellphones or laptops not paying much attention to to student safety. This school does not fundraisers or even allow parents to bring their children cupcakes or a cake for their birthdays. There are a lot of things this school should change but I feel that overall I don't really recommend it.Parent Review6y ago - Padron Elementary School
