Posted by a community member on 5/28/2017Hillcrest provides a caring and engaging learning atmosphere for all its students. The teachers and administrators are great, and there are many special events, learning activities, art, PE, music, and much more.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was there for two years, the academic requirement is good, they are bilingual and they attend to both languages equally, the activities at the school are adorable... The social skills of some teachers and field staff need to be worked on. But academically it seemed good to me compared to other schools in Austin that have very good scores which they do not deserve, such as Steiner Ranch and Summitt.Parent Review8mo ago - Houston Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is dangerous for students with autism. The school has multiple high support units and the principal has had no care for their well being or educational environment until an emergency happens. There is no follow through or support. Parents of students with high sensory needs, high support autism, ADHD, or emotional needs should be greatly cautioned when choosing this school while the current principal remains there.Other Review6mo ago - Perez Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am thrilled to share my experience and heartfelt appreciation for Uphaus Early Childhood Center. As a parent, I couldn't be happier with the exceptional learning environment and dedicated teachers who have played an instrumental role in shaping my daughter's educational journey. The campus itself is nothing short of amazing, thoughtfully designed to cater to the unique needs of small children. Every corner exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing a safe and stimulating space for learning and exploration. What sets UECC apart is its outstanding team of teachers. They are undoubtedly the best in their field, showcasing immense passion and expertise in early childhood education. Their commitment to each child's growth and development is truly inspiring. The curriculum strikes a perfect balance between structured learning and free play, allowing the children to engage in hands-on activities while fostering their creativity and independence. It's impressive to witness how the teachers seamlessly blend both approaches, creating an environment that nurtures the whole child. Moreover, the teachers go above and beyond by ensuring that the lessons learned in school effortlessly transfer to the home environment. They provide valuable guidance and resources for parents, empowering us to reinforce the skills and knowledge acquired during school hours. They understand that education encompasses more than just academic achievement; it also involves nurturing well-rounded individuals who can thrive in various aspects of life.It is evident that the foundation being laid by the teachers at will set our children up for long-term success in their education. The dedication and care they invest in every child's development are truly commendable. By integrating life skills into the daily routines and classroom activities, the teachers ensure that our children have a solid foundation in areas such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, and decision-making. These skills are invaluable and lay the groundwork for their future success, not only academically but also in their personal and professional lives.I wholeheartedly recommend Uphaus Early Childhood Center to any parent seeking an exceptional educational experience for their child. It's a place where young minds thrive, where the joy of learning is fostered, and where lifelong memories are created.Parent Review11mo ago
