Read what parents are saying about Elsa England Elementary SchoolEasily one of the best schools i have enrolled my kid in and i love how engaged they are. They look forward to going to school daily and are education is even very well managed. they teach the kids in class and give them time to actually practice and learn on their own. Other schools i had to always help my kids but here not the case tey are super busy and love it. Great school!!

Posted by a parent on 9/18/2017England Elementary is truly one of the best in the Austin metro area. It has outstanding teachers who care about their students, administrators who make decisions in the best interests of the children, and a very diverse student body whose parents are passionate about education. My 3 children of varying ages have all excelled beyond grade level expectations because this school raises the bar for public education. The school is in an area of explosive growth, and has successfully managed the challenges that come along with growing by 100 or more students a year. RRISD is an outstanding district and England Elementary is one of its shining stars!

She seems to come back home always with a smile, tired and with her head full of learnings. Its easy to get in touch and get response from the teacher or the staff, and they always welcome you with a smile and with a positive attitude. We normally depend of Great Oak elementary, but my daughter is already asking if she could stay in Fern Bluff for next year !! So for sure it is positive on her sideParent Review4mo ago - Forest North Elementary School

If you want your children to learn, become independent, and prepare for their next chapters in life (middle school, high school, college, etc.), run. It's that simple, just run. For SEVERAL years this school was so hyper focused on diagnosing my student instead of teaching actual material and working with them to understand. Most teachers are so overwhelmed and their classes are overloaded they cannot properly show students one on one attention. If your child has a 504 plan--they will not use it, nor will they remember your child even has one. This school does not have any organizational qualities, they have no core system, the ONLY things this school focuses on is STAAR and feelings. The "teachers" at this school rely on computer programs and video demonstrations to teach material. This school does not involve the parents of students, they do not communicate when a child is struggling academically until the student is so far behind they become overwhelmed. After moving and switching schools it pains me to say, "WE WASTED YEARS AT THIS SCHOOL AND IN ROUND ROCK." My children are now actually LEARNING material, being sent home with material to study, reading chapter books as a class and having meaningful discussions. To say that after moving it is like night and day is BEYOND an understatement. I truly feel like my children now have a shot at a future. If it was not for my husband and I being proactive and hiring tutors outside the school (Brushy Creek Elementary), our children would be so far behind. These administrators need to stop focusing on state funding and Staar tests, and remember why they are truly there, to give children an education and a chance to become successful. You can not do these things when you are more focused on feelings, being political correct, and social justice warriors. After reading my review I truly hope that YOU as the reader think twice about moving your children to RRISD. It is no longer about education or the children, it is about these teachers and administrators and what THEY get out of it.Parent Review4w ago - Great Oaks Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing a review after reading all of the previous reviews written I have a few things to say. I have two kids (twins) that are now in 5th grade and have been there since Kindergarten. I have only had positive experiences with Great Oaks Elementary. I have not met a teacher that doesn't LOVE GOE and many have been there for many many years. This fact is an excellent sign that this school is a welcoming and positive place to work and attend. We experienced the Covid years at GOE when my kids were at end of 1st grade through maybe the beginning of 3rd grade. I was very impressed with how the principal and staff dealt with this very difficult time for the education system. My kids luckily were able to bounce back and really didn't experience any gaps during this time. I have a kiddo with a 504 and he was able to stay on level the entire time. i have only ever felt that GOE provides a well organized, super communicative, warm and welcoming environment. If that doesn't provide an excellent environment for learning then I don't know what does.Parent Review4mo ago - Patsy Sommer Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not want anyone go to this school, cheap carpets, discriminating teacher that treats American students better. Disgusting lunches where I found aluminum on my pizza and expired milk. Students had to protest and made a rally during recess because how bad the education things are. There are bullies during recess, boogers on walls, easy school education, and so on. Just one year ruined my life. There are moldy pizzas and I found flies and bugs in my lunch. Some kids starve since lunch is worse than not eating. The teacher called K.H. (Initials) is super bad. Survey shown 14/24 people of her class hates it. There is no chance to prove yourself if you are good at something, instead, someone not so good takes over. Gym teacher is not really good. Students hacking each other’s computers. I can’t list all the problems but this school is not recommended unless you want to suffer.Other Review4mo ago - Holy Family Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has turned out to be such a disappointment to our family. We had high hopes this year after the administration was reprimanded last year for not communicating and not following through with what they say. This motivated them to communicate more in the first semester, but after Christmas it was right back to secrecy and lack of transparency. The counselor resigned in October or November and it appears they’re not even trying to hire a new one, but no one really knows. They keep saying they ordered playground equipment for the grassy field that 2nd grade and up are forced to have “recess in,” but we are almost in March and no equipment has materialized. Since the over 50% turnover last year there are lots of new teachers, and about half of them are qualified and doing a decent job. The other half are either not practicing Catholics or not teachers at all. It seems nothing will change unless the leadership at the top changes.Parent Review1mo ago
