Read what parents are saying about Landergin Elementary SchoolWhen we started in this school 6 years ago, I thought this school was the best school. The kindergarten teacher was fabulous, and my daughter was excelling. 3 years later I enrolled my son, and in that time, the school has gone from fabulous to absolutely terrible!! If you have a concern about your child, and the bullying that is ongoing in this school, you get blown-off, and informed that if your child was better behaved, it wouldn't be an issue, and that it is NOT bullying! What happened to the zero tolerance policy AISD put into effect? The principals come into the students rooms this year, yelling at them over lower scores on practice TAKS. Substitutes run from this school during the day saying they won't ever sub there again. Teachers treat you like you are nothing because you aren't a teacher. And when the principal refuses to address the issues, forget about going to the cluster director!! He'll call the principal, and tell you it's up to the principal to decide what is what, and then your child will be treated like a pariah for the rest of the school year at least. I am doing everything I can to get my children out of this district all-together.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEvery teacher our children have had at Bivins has been amazing! We feel privileged that they have been able to attend Bivins Elementary Schools and would not consider any other elementary school in the area for our family. Parents are highly involved and the teachers and administration go above and beyond to recognize each students' special abilities and talents and encourage them in their growth, academically and socially. Very diverse community that is inclusive and welcoming to all.Parent Review1y ago - Coronado Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers don't care about the students. One year the long term substitute told the students that she was glad to not have to teach them any more and made some of the kids cry. The next year the teacher would read out the failing student's test scores in front of the class. The principal was no where to be found even after asking for a meeting about these incidents. Then in 2020 for remote learning, the math teacher would not grade for an entire month, so we never knew where our child was with their math comprehension. He also made aggressive notes on the student's homework. I have never had these issues with a school before in my life. There was even a teacher that told our kid that they should show up even if they were sick because the school gets $xx (I don't remember the exact figure) per student per day of attendance. That tells me that the management is telling this to teachers because it is an important measured metric to them. This school was always hostile towards the parents when the teacher was clearly in the wrong and the teachers were terrible. I'm glad we don't have to deal with dumpster fire of a school anymore.Parent Review2y ago - Wolflin Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child is a straight A student who never struggles with adaptability, flexibility, transitions, self-regulation, or impulsivity, Wolflin still isn’t a great choice, but your child will probably skate along just fine. On the other hand, if your child has ADHD, is on the autism spectrum, has sensory processing disorder, or otherwise struggles with the skills listed above—MOVE, get a transfer, work three full-time jobs to afford private school, homeschool—seriously, whatever you need to do. In my family’s experience, the principal and a majority of the teaching faculty at Wolflin have very limited interest in helping children with invisible disabilities succeed, and will view them solely as a problem that deserves punishment. And honestly, I’ve received this same report from other parents who have been in our shoes at Wolflin as well. If you mention sensory interventions, they’ll look at you like you’re from outer space. If you feel like the administration and teachers look down on you as an adult, imagine how your kids feel. This school is much more focused on quick fixes for behavior than trying to discern WHY the behavior is happening in the first place and the what is in the best interest of the student long-term. I begged to hear positive things about my kid for years. Unless I directly reached out to a teacher and said, “what has my child done right lately?” I never heard anything positive. I could not be more thankful to be done with Wolflin.Parent Review2y ago
