Heritage Hills Elementary School

We have had lots of great teachers here, with the exception of one or two. It is concerning that the school is losing quite a few teachers this year and some are being moved around against their will. The principal that is making the decision to move teachers is leaving this year anyway. The moral of teachers here seems to be getting lower. If you have a student with an IEP, you will need to keep a close watch on whether or not those modifications are being implemented by teachers and the school. We also know student growth is not up to par as stated. That is the biggest concern.

My daughter loves every single staff member in this school. She's only a first grader and still, almost everyone there knows and call her by name. They have such a warm, inviting spirit and are continually striving to make families feel welcomed. The curriculum used it both challenging and successful.

Great school - some of the parents seem a little proud to the point of being stuffy (why, I don't know - it's a middle class neighborhood), but most of the folks are good people who care about their kids. Kids are respectful and very smart because of parent involvement at home. School events are safe, well organized and controlled but fun for the kids. Rules are strict but once learned the kids are rewarded and encouraged to learn. The surrounding area is one of the best in town for a middle income family. It's safe and has consistently nice, well cared for homes. I've seen the school systems of four different states and I can say this school is a model American elementary school. Any parent would be proud to send their children there.
