East Side Elementary School

I am very pleased with the school the team of staff is remarkable, they have several extra curricular activities, and they have special events as rewards for their amazing progress in their academic classes. Each student gets a very satisfied amount of time with their teachers. The whole staff is well groomed and clean cut. They care and treat your child as if one of their own. The school is positively ambitious and amazing.

The community was great and the overall experience for me was great.

The staff at Southside goes above and beyond to provide a happy healthy and safe learning environment for all of the children they are the most caring and attentive teachers and staff I have ever seen in my 9 years of being a parent of school age child three of my four children have attended the fourth will start soon they have all moved on to great things thanks to their start at Southside Elementary

For the past four months, my daughter’s teachers have been absolutely wonderful. They are caring, dedicated, and truly invested in their students. I have nothing but praise for the educators in the classroom they are the reason families like mine continue to show up and try to make things work.Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the school’s leadership and day-to-day operations. From an administrative standpoint, the school has been steadily declining, and it is beginning to directly affect families.One major issue is the rigid front office policy. After 2:00 PM, phone calls are no longer answered, and parents are not allowed to change pickup arrangements no exceptions. Real life doesn’t always follow perfect schedules. Accidents, work emergencies, and unexpected situations happen. The complete lack of flexibility or compassion in these moments sends a clear message that family circumstances are not considered or valued.Pickup and drop-off times are another serious concern. Expecting very young children to arrive at school between 7:00 and 7:25 AM is unrealistic and exhausting for both students and parents. This schedule might make more sense for older students who can manage their mornings independently, but it places an extreme burden on working parents especially single parents with multiple children. While this may be a county-wide issue, it still deserves to be challenged and reconsidered due to its impact on families.In short, the teachers are doing an outstanding job with what they have. However, poor leadership, inflexible policies, and unreasonable scheduling are undermining the positive work happening in the classrooms. I strongly urge the school board to take these concerns seriously and address the operational failures that are making it increasingly difficult for families to succeed.
