This school is mnps perfection. It’s quaint and sweet. It’s focused on growing the children and does it well. It’s nurturing and loving. It’s the perfect neighborhood elementary school. The leadership, teachers, and families here are so wonderful!
Posted by a parent on 5/13/2026The best elementary school in mnps, hands down!! We couldn’t be happier with the school community and teachers, many of whom live in the neighborhood. And they have an amazing drama program. Our children have thrived so much here and we will be sad when they age out.

I have been very impressed with Dr. Miley (Principal) and his staff, the teachers, and the entire team's dedication to our children. Metro Davidson County Schools have a gem in CHE. Keep it up folks.
Posted by a parent on 5/5/2021Poor, Principle gets rid of staff that are willing to stand up for the kids and what they know the child needs. He does not communicate well with parents. SpEd teachers leave much to be desired.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagehi! let me start off by saying i wouldnt really call this school good. i used to be a student here and it was awful. i got bullied SO much every day because of my differences. every single day my mental health got worser and worser. they gossip about diverse & disabled people (right infront of the teachers), and no one does anything. i really dont understand how the people here just casually brush bad things off?? racism, ableism, etc was heard AND wasnt taken care of. im disappointed to be honest. only a few teachers were nice heresooo id say this school is not recommendedOther Review1y ago - Tusculum Elementary School

The principle is very motivated and they believe in actually giving the kids the very best education for that I’m grateful, however there are some teachers that just needs to retire.
