Central Magnet School

My two children currently attend here. The teachers and other staff are absolutely wonderful. My children are challenged and learn so much on a daily basis. We chose this school over other schools in the area because of Dr. Maddux’s leadership. We like how it offers our children a different experience through a higher percentage of diversity than other schools like it in the area.

A school in a low income neighborhood and it shows. The pushing of homework on kindergarteners to up the schools low test scores, the starting school an hour before every other school, the lack of a kindergarten graduation but every other school has one, the lack of Christmas resources that are provided at other schools, the singling out of certain students in front of the class instead of notifying parents, the lack of communication from officials when there’s an issue with my children, the rude women who work in the front office (more specifically the white woman with the raspy smokers voice), the calling my phone for an “intervention” as if I’m some incompetent mother who can’t get her children to school, the making my 9 and 6 year old put their backpacks in the class before attending the book fair like they’re some criminals walking into a grocery store with a bag, there were hardly any school activities, only one CASUAL dance. Very disheartening to see other parents attending nice dress up dances for their kids, but I never got to. Very disheartening that others got to see their children graduate from kindergarten but the students at this school couldn’t be budgeted in for a graduation and instead are throwing a “celebration” during field week. A bottom barrel type school!

Terrible and frustrating. I was worried sending my child to this school everyday.

Dismissive and rude Principal. Rude front desk. Nothing ever gets solved

Administration is amazing at this school and that creates amazing teachers. Having great people at the top always flows down through staff to the children. No better school in Murfreesboro.

St Rose is a school that teaches not only superior academics, but love for God, our Nation, and service to others.

Very disappointing. When we enrolled at RR we were very hopeful that Ms. Offut would establish this school as an excellent urban institution. Three principals later and numerous teacher departures, and we are left with a failing school.
