Read what parents are saying about Central High SchoolThe students are well in touch with their classwork
Posted by a teacher on 4/11/2017When I was ready to move into a new neighborhood in 2007, I was so grateful to be able to move to the Central Garden area so that he could be a part of such a great I institution. The teachers care as Well as the principal, the children are well rounded, and there are a variety of things to learn in that school. My son took classes that seemed so hard that it made me nervous, but he passed with flying colors! Central has pride and works with parents to not only make the school great, but the neighborhood as well. And I am grateful for the quality.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageProbably the biggest waste of time and money i have ever spent on private education to further my sons academic development...this is a sad institution that is not accredited but lied and said they were. If there are problems with a child's learning ability you won't hear about it. This is basically a K-2 overpriced daycare. I don't speak on behalf of all parents but this is my personal experience. After the new management took over and Covid outbreak the education was totally discarded.Parent Review2y ago - Grace-St Lukes Episcopal School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei’m an 8th grader at gsl, and the experience has been something to say the least. i would say absolutely no one wants to learn anything they’re being taught. most teachers are very sweet and want to teach, but some really just don’t want to be there. some teachers really could care less. gsl tends to keep the worst teachers and fire the best teachers. last year we had a teacher that made us want to learn. gsl fired him for talking to us like we were teenagers instead of 3 year olds. being a student with extreme mental health issues, gsl has not been helpful at all. they’ve sent me home instead of helping me process my emotions. gsl only deals with mentally ill students when it comes between school work. homework is piled and piled, i know i seem like a teenager whining, but i have had to stay up until 3 am to finish a 15 page homework packet due the day after we got it, and i still had more homework. special education. where do i start with this. from what i’ve seen, gsl does not care. gsl turns away children with special needs, this year gsl had a special needs kid TURNED AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR just because they did not want to deal with him. gsl does nothing to help kids with special needs. one boy in my grade is almost blind due to a condition he has and gsl constantly overlooks this by refusing to have him move closer to the board and things similar to that. gsl is safe yes. kids do make empty threats as a joke to “burn down the school” and things similar to that. i witnessed a sobbing girl get called a school shooter just because she was stressed. kids at gsl will say racist, homophobic, sexist, and just the most disgusting “jokes” to people. and gsl does nothing. i’ve been bullied for years and i’ve seen others get bullied and gsl have done nothing. bullying at gsl is so common. i want to say i’d recommend gsl, but the absolute pain and frustration gsl has caused my family is preventing me from doing so.Student Review1y ago - Immaculate Conception Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been there since kindergarten. IC has some strong points, and many of the teachers do care about the students' growth and development. Unfortunately, the big problem at IC is teacher communication with parents. They love to talk about all the 21st century technology, but they seldom use it for anything else except fundraising. Teachers let papers pile up before grading. Parents are the last to know anything. We have tried many times over the years but it has not changed in spite of apologies and promises. If you are interested in a school for your children that is focused on infinite fundraising, new facilities, more fundraising, little use of the technology they have fundraised for, a Rector focused on little besides church politics and more fundraising, and being left mainly in the dark by teachers and school administration about your child's progress or needs for improvement, then IC is the school for you. We are pulling our children out at the end of this year. It is a real shame. It could be a much better school than the administration allows it to be.Parent Review8y ago - 1st Class Montessori

I have never heard about an elementary school that focuses so heavily on the arts while still valuing the academic success of its students.Other Review6y ago - 1st Class Montessori - I
