Read what parents are saying about Holston Middle SchoolThe teachers are mostly kind and welcoming, but they don't care about how kids react with other kids and they don't care about if there is a fight. They just sit there and let it happen.

Posted by a student on 9/19/2016Teachers do not communicate with parents. Technology is disconnected and used inefficiently. Assignments are not clear. Meetings with teachers are non-productive. The staff leads the students to believe it's ok to settle for fair grades instead of work for great grades. Disappointing!
Posted by a community member on 1/18/2016I love this school! I am sad to be leaving it, but I am prepared, thanks to my wonderful teachers! The thing i like most about the Holston staff is that they're not afraid to laugh along with us! They have a sense of humor (at least, most of them do)! The counselors also have aided me greatly in planning for my future. They look after me, and they protect me (I have first-hand experience). I couldn't feel safer at another Middle School! :)
Posted by a community member on 5/13/2011We have had a great first semester at Holston. The honor's classes are challenging, and the teachers do a wonderful job of staying in touch with parents. The kids seem to all combine well from the various elementary schools. My son loves his school - and that is saying something in middle school!

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent and a volunteer new to Sarah Moore Greene this year. Please don't take too much stock in old reviews. I sent my child to this school by choice- we had other options, but after a couple visits, SMG was the clear fit. The deciding factor for me was the culture. Students walk up to you and tell you about their work. The atmosphere is positive, filled with pride and compassion. These are the values I want my child to develop in school. I look forward to the coming years.Parent Review5y ago - Spring Hill Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy husband I messed up. While house hunting last year I was always vigilant in checking the school district first. Then one weekend I didn't check the district's for the houses we were going to see. Fell in love with the house but we're now stuck here. I will definitely be home schooling for middle and we plan to sell this place before my kids reach High school. No way in hell would I send them to Fulton. We thought the Elementary school wouldn't be so bad. Until my then 8 year old daughter came home in the first week in tears. She was shunned and bullied because she's smart and soft spoken. Straight A honor roll student. A group of girls made fun of her and told her they won't be her friend because she's white. Seriously. Up until that point she and her older brother by a year were unaware that racism is a thing. Tried to email and call the teacher about it and never got a response. I'm absolutely disgusted. My two older ones have been going here since April 2017 and my youngest will be starting Kindergarten in August. Hopefully we can move before then.Parent Review5y ago - Berean Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school 1st through 12th grade and loved it. The teachers are very supportive not only in your schoolwork, but to help you with personal life issues you may be dealing with. The students there are very kind for the most part, and there is not any bullying that I was ever aware of that was never addressed. I would highly suggest having your child attend if they are looking for a close family-like atmosphere to grow up in, teachers that will help pick you up, become academically advanced, and be able to join the many clubs and sports that Berean offers to fit everyone's likes. I felt like Berean never forced us as students to only believe a certain way, rather I felt like every teacher provided solid foundational grounds for you as an individual to grow and decide in. The teachers grew into family and treated us as individuals. There has never been a time when I felt like I was forced to believe in any opinion or belief of another teacher that would renounce myself as a Christian. I firmly believe that no teachers at Berean ever made any student feel like they were not a Christian based off their choices, made them feel ashamed for being a female or male in the dress code, or ever felt bullied by a teacher. Strongly recommend this school to anyone! I was way ahead in all of my college courses compared to my peers who attended public school, I was granted a scholarship by Berean as was most of my classmates, and I personally felt more prepared for real adult life after attending Berean and stepping into college!Other Review1y ago
