Fairmont Elementary is an excellent school! The teachers and staff go above and beyond to insure the wellbeing of all students. The principal is a wonderful leader, and the kids adore her. All Jonson City Schools are great, but Fairmont is the BEST!

This school is one where I would and do recommend friends and family to send their children. Carol and her staff are the best teachers and educators around in my opinion. Posted by a community member on 11/23/2015If your children are not wealthy, white and well behaved STAY AWAY! Principal McGillis is abrasive, unkind to the point of cruelty and rules instead of runs what was once a wonderful school. Don't do this to your children.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school. Student demographics pull from a very economically disadvantage/transient area. I question if Great Schools has up to date information. Teachers have to manage very chaotic behaviors at this school. My 1st grade child had students call the teacher curse words, had to endure foul mouthed language sometimes directed at her. A child routinely soiled himself at school. Front desk did not care about parental concern. It was so glad we moved to another district.
