Amazing school, growing up in this area was great

We love this school! I have two kids there and they are both thriving! The extra curricular and athletic programs are awesome!

We moved to be in the Beech community. Ours kids are thriving, educationally and socially. Parents that have issues with this school, need to look at home first. What support are they giving their kids? Are they keeping the kids focused on their school work?What the student puts into the schoolwork matters just as what the school puts into the kids.Great School.

If you have to send your child to this high school because you live in the radius for it. MOVE or apply for a scholarship or pay for private school. We all moved here and thought we were getting Station Camp Schools....then they rezoned us to this horrible example of a high school.

I'm an alumnus. I don't think Beech is an especially bad or good school academically. Certainly there are a majority of public schools that require more improvement. I think the most glaring problem is a failure to recognize and foster academic talent. Save a teacher or maybe two, no one tells the gifted students at Beech enough about their options post-graduation. Many students who would thrive at a rigorous university are unaware that it is even a possibility. Whether the barrier be a lack of awareness about financial aid or a lack of self-confidence in applying to top tier schools, teachers must recognize and encourage gifted students to achieve what they're capable of. On a side note, the guidance counseling is almost non-existent. If you do meet with them, they'll tell you about the great opportunities waiting at vol state.
