As A Current student in Meigs High School, I have found you have to come from something in order to be recognized as a human being in the school. If you don't come from a good background or even well-known, they treat you differently and poorly which is just a shame. No one deserves to be treated poorly or differently just based off the fact you don't come off as mommy's/Daddy's money. In this school, they single handedly pick you out and make you feel bad for just everything they possibly can nothing is ever fair. Not only that they allow Teachers to treat you poorly which allows the education you get be affected. Bullying is allowed and those who do bully they get away with it just because the school has a sucky discipline system. Besides the poor relationships, bullying, disciplinary system, and education this school has other issues such as the mold in the cafeteria and system, the roaches and mice that crawl and roam the schools freely leading into the quality and safety of the food the students at Meigs High School. It has been proven that the school serves the students with expired milk and foods. Umm hello food poisoning at its finest. If you want the best for your child do the right thing and don't send them to Meigs High school. Homeschool them or find a better rating school elsewhere.

The school is honestly really not okay. As of being a student and writing this the school has bug problems, mice problems, and loves to try to hide it by making a dress code that is bias. I don't mean just boys vs. Girls. If you don't speak English or are Arabic or anything that isn't white or Christian predominant the school is bias as are the teachers. (They teach Spanish so if you speak Spanish you could maybe get some help there) The principal and vise principal will get onto you about any dress code issue if you're not in their circle. They will use (gorilla glue) ducktape on bare skin (yes it hurts and yes it tears skin). The students are wreakless and will destroy property or steal. (There was a period were students lost sauce packet privileges because they had splashed ketchup in the halls and covered a whole table). These aren't isolated instances. If you like art or anything that isn't a basic sport they don't support it financially (they have a band but goodluck being taught proper marching or not having allegations against anyone in band). They spent more school funds on unnecessary TVs in the gym rather than fixing the mold problems through out. Although you can get a locker you have to go to the office to even get it (and that's even if they approve for it or if your stuff don't get stolen). Both students and teachers are so bad that there has been a lot of teachers quiting or having a mental breakdown in class. The only thing I can even give mild credit for is trying to integrate mentally challenged/different kids into classes by having teachers (some volunteered but not sure about all of them) into some smaller classes. (So they aren't isolated from their peers) But even then those teachers aren't completely sure how to handle breakdowns that happen with them and the best they can do is empty threats or trying to calm the situation. While everything goes on they make it a point for us kids to try and look good and represent the school all the while breaking under pressure or focusing on miniscule details. I can't even fully blame the teachers because they get overwhelmed with a curriculum that's over packed or way too little so they have to make it up.

This school is a 0/10 for me. Horrible principals, horrible teachers... if you're not from this county or don't have connections they WILL treat you differently. Very hypocritical people here RUNNING the school. Curriculum would also be a 0/10.

One of the worst I've had to deal with in the state of Tennessee.

This school is very elitist, if you don't play sports, come from money, have the latest clothing then you wont fit in with the pupils OR the staff. There is little support for pupils who do not fit with the 'in' crowd. Bullying is prevalent in all areas of the school! Students run the school office! No accelerated classes or classes outside of required offered (ie only Spanish). Dress code applied when it suits staff. This school should be avoided at all costs.
