Honestly, this school is horrible and I seriously don't recommend. I just got out of 5th grade and I'm so relived. Behavior is insane, it is excused or not disciplined. Lunch is horrible, and kids randomly shout out inappropriate words even on the bus, not even 5th graders, little children! And it's not confronted nor fixed. The principal is also the worst, Mitchem only cares about sc ready test scores and scores in general, you can be on her good side but when you make a low score she's just rude even when you have manners. The only good thing about this school is that they treat kids with disabilities good, though they change the special needs teacher. A fight happened on the bus and the bus driver didn't even do anything, she even smiled when it happened. The assistant principal blamed the older student just because the other was younger even though the younger student started the fight. The same lessons are also repeated every week and they aren't even memorable. My entire 5th grade class was failing in math because one teacher didn't want to do her job, after many parents complained only then did the principals get on her. From my personal experience I don't recommend this school for anyone's child, a lot of things need to be changed and I'm glad I'm out of there.

Awful school. Not only does it look bad on the outside, they have no organization on the inside. Staff is awful, misinformation given if any is given at all. It’s like pulling teeth to talk to the correct person. My kid did not thrive here at all and I’m not the only parent who feels this way as I’ve spoken to multiple.

Public Post DraftOver the past several years, my family has had ongoing concerns regarding our experience at Faith Christian School in Summerville, SC.Our son is currently in 5th grade, and since around 2nd grade, we have seen consistent issues that we believe are important for other families to be aware of.One of the most concerning patterns has been the lack of consistency in teaching staff. There appears to be frequent turnover, which makes it difficult for students to build continuity in their education and relationships.We have also been told the school offers guidance counseling support, yet throughout our time there, there has been little to no visibility, communication, or involvement from any counselor. This raises concerns about the level of academic and emotional support available to students who may need it.Academically, communication has been a challenge. We often do not become aware of struggling or failing grades until late in the quarter or at report card time, leaving very little opportunity to correct course. At the same time, students are frequently assigned weekend homework and tested on Mondays, despite coming home unsure of the material or how to complete assignments. This leads us to question how effectively the curriculum is being taught during the school day.Additionally, there seems to be a disconnect in priorities. While subjects like Spanish, art, and PE are emphasized, they are not core graded subjects, yet core academic understanding appears to be lacking. We have repeatedly found ourselves reteaching material at home just so our child can keep up.Another major concern is the school’s apparent reluctance to hold students back when necessary, even when parents request it. Instead, there seems to be a tendency to rely on extra credit or grade adjustments to move students forward. While this may help overall performance metrics, it does not serve the long-term academic development of the child.Our intention is not to criticize for the sake of criticism, but to advocate for stronger communication, accountability, and a more student-focused academic approach.We believe every child deserves:•Consistent and qualified teachers•Transparent and timely communication on academic performance•Real support systems when they are struggling•A classroom environment where learning happens during the school day—not primarily at home

As a military family moving to the area from an advanced-level school district, our elementary students have excelled at Cane Bay Elementary. They are an incredible team of administrators, teachers, and staff that CARE. With kids with 504s and IEPs, a team dedicated to helping your child succeed and partners with the parents to ensure students are set up for success is something not to be taken lightly. If we could give CBE 10 stars, we would.

Our experience at this school has been overwhelming positive. The school is far from perfect, but the administrative staff and teachers and doing their best, particularly with the influx of students coming into the school. There’s definitely a need for more experienced teachers and additional classroom’s however.
