Palmetto Christian Academy

Seeing a lot of negative reviews on this school and from what it seems, homework is a huge factor and I'm honestly not sure what parents/students expected from an academic school but this is a prek-12th grade school that values education in a christian learning environment. If a student can't handle the homework load then I would recommend another high school. I would definitely agree it's more than other schools but certainly not impossible. A lot of classmates I was with struggled with the homework load but also had 2-4 hours of social media screen time. This school truly prepares you for the academics of the real world and if you go to CofC, coastal, citadel, or anderson, you'll be beyond prepared. If you go to Clemson, wofford, or furman, you'll be sufficiently prepared. I don't know about Ivy league schools. The teachers balance a professional and personal relationship with a good learning environment and sufficient office hours.

Great school! Wish they had a special education program though

We have loved our experience at PCA. Teachers are incredibly caring, academics are strong and extra curricular a are numerous. My kids have grown so much this year in their confidence, character and learning. Making wonderful friends as well and were very welcomed in when starting new this year.

Pca is really tough on students and really harsh, if your greases slip at all you will be shamed for it and you will be mocked, probably by the teachers. The students aren’t that much better honestly, there really rude and really bratty, I’ve been here for over three years now and they are really harsh on just everything and really judgmental people. The insane amount of homework and insane amount of busy work is super stressful and in a type of harsh environment like this it just makes it worse. The courses are honestly great, we learn interesting information and it’s really engaging, but that is overshadowed by the amount of work and pressure of the environment, I can’t say that anyone will be comfortable at pca. This is not a good environment for any kid to be in. It’s very isolating socially and academically, and the people are very clicky I do not see anyone being supported well or feeling supported in this environment.

Horrible and damaging to my child's self-esteem. I didn't realize how badly she was treated right away and this hurts my heart. I got her out of her and she is doing great as a result.
